I have wanted cowboy boots for more than 40 years and I finally decided to get some. My biggest concern was not being able to try them on before ordering a pair, but Amazon makes it easy to return them if they don't fit. Well, these fit great and I will not be returning them! I'm absolutely stunned, because I thought they'd be painful or stiff or some other issue, but right out of the box I love these! The color appears consistent, but I do see minor flaws in the manufacturing process (A crack is beginning to appear on the sole at the bend.) My feet, which I think are slightly on the narrow side, are very comfortable and it feels like a glove. I consider this an entry-level boot because of the price and quality. They probably won’t last forever, but I work in the city and live in the suburbs, so they are perfect for my lifestyle. UPDATE 28 November 2022: I loved the black cherry ones so much I bought the black ones. Everything is the same as above. I feel really fortunate to have gotten these and the price is great!

Ok, boot. Stronger chemical smell than my usual boot. Was asked by a friend if something was burning when they visited, no it's my boots. Fit and style were ok, what I was expecting. Probably will not buy any more from this brand, but expect to get normal wear when I can get them past my nose.

The boots are a great color, an antique brown I guess you would call them. The leather smell out of the box is amazing. Good quality for the price. Most of the reviews and even YouTube videos say that when buying a Dan Post boot, buy a half size smaller than what you usually wear. However, every time I do that, the boots are too small, so I always get my exact shoe size which is 8.5. I like to wear dress socks with my cowboy boots. Lo and behold, they are a bit loose with the dress socks. I tried them with a pair of regulars sweat socks and they fit much better. The problem with boots, or any kind of footwear for that matter is that you don’t really know how the fit is going to be until you wear them-a lot. I have only worn them for three days now and they were not full days of walking around. They could be slightly more snug I feel. But I also feel that an 8 would have been too small. I might try the old trick of submerging them in a bucket of water for a few minutes and leaving them out in the hot sun for a while which helps to make boots smaller. I did this with a beloved pair of Double H Harness boots that I had the same exact problem with and it worked, they now fit perfectly and that is a much thicker leather with a rubber soul. Nice trick if you want to try it. I will be buying Dan Post boots again. I would probably go a half size smaller this time.

After several years of not having worn western boots (about 7) I decided it was time to return to them. (Bored of converse, quite frankly lol) Dan Post has a reputation for comfort, and so it was an easy decision, also buttressed by the many great reviews. Have ya'll seen that beautiful black cherry Milwaukee boot? We are going to take a good look at it here! I know that a lot of people are concerned about the representation of the color of the various boots in contrast from your phone or computer screen vs how they look in person. So I've included some pictures of them in various lighting conditions and how they contrast with a couple diff pair of jeans, and I've taken a few pics w/ camera flash. The pictures w/ the black pants on the tiled floor is under bathroom lighting at night. The picture with blue jeans on wooden floor is in a room lit only by outside light coming in through windows in the morning. The picture out by the angel statue is my front porch (roof over head, shaded from direct sunlight) also in the morning. And the picture of the boots alone on the asphalt is to show you a good shot of them exposed to direct sunlight. The shots over carpet and of the inside of the boot are captured with the use of camera flash. Hope you all enjoy these pics. And to think these boots essentially sold themselves to me because of the plain thumbnails in the advertisement. They are even more gorgeous in person! Well I sincerely hope these pictures give you a good visual representation more than my words ever could. But I will say these boots have a lot of personality to them, gorgeous under any circumstance! Don't you agree? Also, they are absolute comfort right outta the box. What else is there to say? Dan Post Company makes one hell of a boot! I give these boots 5 stars for both comfort fit & feel, and aesthetics. All that's needed now is the test of time, see how they hold up. Wearing them daily!
