I rarely use Crisco, but when I do need it, I want Crisco, not lard. I use it for the occasional pie crust, for greasing pans, and for popcorn - it makes the absolute best popcorn when done in a large saucepan and brought to very high heat before adding the kernels. I’ve always bought these small cans because a full-size can would go rancid before I was able to use it all. Yes, I could keep it in the refrigerator, but the big can takes up a lot of space. So, I always purchased these small cans. Well, I haven’t seen them in any grocery stores around me for a good six months now. You have to buy the sticks, but the cans are so much better for storage purposes. So, I was happy to find this on Amazon. Yes, you have to buy a case. But you can keep unopened cans in the freezer until you’re ready to open one, so I opened the one can that stays in my refrigerator and popped the others into our chest freezer until I need a new one.
