- BINDING: The Crescent Moon SPL (Single Pull Loop) binding has been recognized as the best binding year after year by the media, testers and customers alike.The all foot encompassing binding system is made of a flexible polymer which wraps around your foot and provides excellent support and comfort and will not come out of adjustment. With a simple pull of the loop on top of the binding the entire harness system is tightened or loosened with one hand - even with gloves on! The heel mechanism is as simple as ratcheting forward to the perfect setting. It is a quick and easy entry and exit. Features spring loaded cam and ratchet buckles.
- Platform: Our Tear Drop shaped frame provides outstanding maneuverability without loss of floatation. This unique shape allows you to walk and run naturally without changing your stride or waddling. The frames are made with 6063 aircraft grade aluminum tubing and tig welded for strength. The decking is lightweight, durable, highly abrasion resistant, and quiet, noticeably different from plastic snowshoes.
- Traction: Aggressive 3 crampon stainless steel traction system provides outstanding grip in all terrains, but particularly in hard pack and icy conditions, and on climbs and traverses. Crescent Moon is the only snowshoe to have a toe claw which is important for digging in when climbing hills or mountains and helps with push-off when hiking or running.

Crescent Moon snow shoes have the best binding system I have ever used. The shoes are good also but the binding makes this brand a must buy. I have found that the women's shoe is cut too narrow and the front of the shoe is elevated too high. It doesn't cause an issue but for my wife it didn't make a difference in your stride compared to the men's or regular shoe so we went sent back the women's and got the men's. It may make a difference in other women's stride. Over all whichever model you pick you will be happy. This style shoe will not keep you afloat as much as traditional shoes will but with the binding and light weight it makes up for it. I still will use by old rawhide and wood Michigan's for those deep snow conditions once in awhile just for the fun of it.

These are perfect. Easy to get on and off. Comfortable to wear. A little tricky finding boots to fit the opening. I have a great pair of Keen boots that are the warmest I have ever owned. The Keens are a bit too wide - doable but my foot tends to fit in at the wrong angle. I found a pair of Women's hunting boots (600 gram insulation) that keep my feet warm and are the perfect size for the opening. I have used these on my 10 acres and also extended 1-2 hour hiking. Also, made in the USA!!!

We run a lot around the trails in the back country. These shoes make it so easy to move. All other shoes seem to encourage walking. With these, we have no problem picking up the pace. They are very lightweight and yet rugged.

I bought these a couple years ago and they have been invaluable hiking and mountaineering. Both my mountaineering boots and hiking boots can be easily used with the binding system which provides a perfect snug fit. The crampon system is also top notch, gripping securely on steep downhill pitches and of course the teardrop design can't be beat for ease in walking. I'll be happily using these for years to come!
