This urn is absolutely gorgeous, everything I had hoped for, it has minor imperfections consistent with the vintage style. There is a pad on the bottom to dampen any noise when it is placed and to help with stability. The lid does not have an air tight gasket of any kind but an o ring or gasket could easily be added. However if there was one it would be visible from the outside. However it appears the urn screws down completely and seeds securely so as not to loose any contents. Water or moisture resistance is concerning. The threads are a bit rigged aluminum so it does not unscrew easily which I believe is beneficial in this situation. The blue is a beautifully marbled cobalt I believe is shrink wrapped or dipped not hand painted however feels substantial without any wrinkles or peeling or chips. I believe this item will last for many many years kept in the right conditions. I remember the size of the box my mother received when she collected my grandparents ashes and I do not think this urn is large enough for two individuals ashes whom had wished to be mixed before distrubuted to their 3 children. My mother's 1/3 portion of the blended ashes would not have fit in this urn. However my grandparents had chosen a few locations. One for each child to go and spread them. In this case the remaining ashes will fit. I myself their granddaughter was able to keep a 16 oz portion for myself out of my mother's box. Thus the reason for my purchase. I have my ashes in a small mason jar and am able to pack the bottom of the urn with packing paper and lower the jar inside with the thin dustbag provided and a few other trinkets, my grandmother's rosary, wedding ring, their 50th anniversary photo and obituaries and an identification card should I ever be separated from them in hopes of return. I have enough space for a bit more packing paper on top. It arrived well packaged should any one need to fill it and reship or travel, the packaging would be suitable. The secondary black velvet dust bag is also very nice and would be suitable if this urn was to be given as a gift or need to be stored. I would absolutely purchase another if needed. I believe this company has done well fitting these needs and the care that was taken reflects in the product. The inside of the urn is a porous surface as if it was sprayed with a type of coating. If I had a larger portion of ashes to contain I would use the plastic bag the urn was shipped in to line the inside of the urn before filling with ashes as a prevention in the event this one would ever need to be replaced if it got dented, faded or compromised somehow. This urn is very light but feels solid once it's filled. There is no engraving plate or space or marker or anything but I'm sure something could be attached easily. Like a cross, or heart, doves, butterflys as the style is versatile. It's the most satisfying knowing I have it taken care of and that I can have them with me and my family in such a nice presentable way that is so astetically pleasing. I feel very happy and comfortable with them in the open this way and keep them close not tucked away or morbid or risk loosing them. Which I actually did for a few years when we moved into this house because they were packed away. Now I have this urn and I know right where they are and I can see them every day. My thoughts are with those whom are in the market for a vessel to store cremated remains. It does not get better, but with time it will get a bit easier. This urn has helped me tremendously since I can't have them anymore, but I can still have them someway. That is absolutely worth every penny.

I had been looking at urns for myself for awhile now after losing several family members. I wanted my passing and the decisions that go along with it as easily as possible for my son. When accidents happen it is difficult to make some of the necessary decisions in a short time. Some people may be uncomfortable talking about or planning for one's own death but it seems to be reasonable to me. I already have a plot and headstone because of the unexpected death of my husband so that is taken care of too. I have always loved the color purple. Urns that I considered when I was looking at different funeral homes were more expensive and not nearly as nice as this one. The color is so rich. The urn looks very elegant and would be suitable for those people who want to keep their loved ones near them.

This is the second urn I've ordered--not to be morbid, but to get in front of the inevitable. I've looked at end-of-life planners and that sort of thing, and this is a natural extension of my practical frame of mind these days. What a handsome urn this is! The tasteful and rich colors, not "urn-y" at all, and it is built to contain a fully-grown adult. My husband has been watching this quest of mine with interest and, once he saw this gorgeous vessel, he claimed it for himself. It has a velvety storage bag, although why you'd need it I can't imagine unless it's to take it to the church for a service or wherever you'd go to get the ashes (that's my next chapter of study). At any rate, this is lovely and well-made, and would serve beautifully as a vase if you didn't need it for its intended purpose, or just happened to like the look of it. (Just because it says "urn" doesn't mean it has to BE "urn"). I can see dried flowers or wheat stalks for this, sitting on a sideboard or entry hall table. It is that beautiful, that you could use it for other things. Gorgeous!

After my father's passing, I purchased this urn as a quick, back-up option, uncertain of the funeral home's timeline for cremation and the need for an urn. Despite the overwhelming grief and the challenge of making such decisions, this urn turned out to be absolutely perfect and became the final resting place we chose. Its design complements our home beautifully, and the solid, heavy feel provides a sense of durability and security. The screw-on lid ensures it remains tightly closed, offering peace of mind. Additionally, the seamless metal construction means I don’t have to worry about it breaking if it’s ever accidentally bumped or falls from the fireplace. I am incredibly grateful to this company for producing such a thoughtfully designed and sturdy urn, which made a difficult process much easier. The incredibly reasonable price was an added comfort during this challenging time. Highly recommend for both quality and value. EDIT: For added context, my dad was over 6’ and weighed about 250-270lbs. This urn had plenty of room for his ashes.
