I purchased this urn for my late uncle who unfortunately passed away from lymphoma. His favorite hobby was carpentry so a wood urn was only fitting. The wood was great quality and was very pretty. The box opens underneath and not from the top. There is a sliding chamber that allows you to place the ashes in there. This fit the bag of ashes that were given to our family. The price was good for the size and quality. It was not too heavy either. Definitely worth the buy
