We needed this for a 7 ft closet. It’s a light to mid weight rod - not terribly flimsy but definitely not as durable as the heavy gauge steel rods we were replacing. 66 lb weight limit is not enough for a 7 foot closet. (The old rod had a 200 lb weight limit). I think the connection points for all the little sections will bend it, and we definitely won’t be able to use this to hang heavy coats and suits. We’ll leave it up and see how it goes - the black does look nicer, hopefully wire hangers won’t scratch it up over time. The hooks that are included are a neat bonus! We also had existing holes in the stud so and the screws lined up so we did not have to drill or level. We ended up repurposing the longer old screws and I used a permanent marker to color the heads black after mounting. ... show more

This is a hanging clothes rod suitable for installation in almost any closet due to its adjustable design. It comes with multiple pieces that screw together to create a longer rod, and one special piece that sits at one end that is adjustable to an exact length. By assembling a roughly correct number of pieces and then extending/contracting that end piece, you should be able to cover a wide variety of closet widths. Two end pieces are also provided. They have set screws that allow you to secure the rod into them so it won't fall out, which is appreciated and a nice design feature. I do wish the end pieces were a little bigger with more screw hole options, but that's minor: I wasn't able to put my rod exactly where I wanted it because the wall was uneven and the holes didn't quite line up with what I wanted to screw into, but that's an issue unique to my own closet and isn't the manufacturer's fault. This comes with a bunch of S hooks and I'm not really sure why - I think the vast majority of people will prefer to use real hangars. They got immediately discarded based on how I use my closet, and I would have preferred to just avoid the waste and/or save a few cents. I wouldn't do pullups with this or anything - at the end of the day, it's still a bunch of short segments assembled into a slightly weaker longer rod. But for hanging jackets and clothing in a typical closet, it should serve you well. ... show more
