The fabric on this t-shirt is thinner and softer than a typical t-shirt. It is also obviously cut for a woman and is not a unisex fit. I did size up, and a medium fit well, not too loose and not too tight. For reference I am 5'4", 120 lbs and a 34C.

I ordered this as my dog's "mother's day" gift to my wife. I didn't order a size larger, as suggested, because I knew that she would notice the larger size and feel a certain kind of way about it. (Indeed she did; she wouldn't let me return it for the larger size). These absolutely run AT LEAST a size smaller than marked, so order accordingly. That said, the print is good, material is great, it shipped quickly unlike many shirts here on Amazon, and the color was true. Plus it's real cute.
