These toys are so fun for kids and they have staying power. It is so easy to put a little water in the bottom of the tub and even my 3-year-old can push the button to make the water go. The markers are bright and it's amazing how the color really comes off in water. Yes, read the directions and you should probably rinse the pets after your kids are done to get them really clean. The hard part is that the kids will want to color again before the pets are fully dry. The little animals are so cute, and you can add to the collection easily. I've seen individual pets for sale at the grocery store. My one complaint is that there is a little hole in the bottom of the animals and the little marker tips fit perfectly into that hole--a little too tightly in fact. My 3-year-old got her marker stuck in that hole and we had to break the top off to get it out. That dog is forever going to be a little orange. Even my 8-year-old son loves to play with these, which is why I was sure to get them each their own set and store them separately. My 3 year old LOVES this! Endless fun. We use regular washable markers on them and they wash out just the same as the markers they come with. I use some dish soap and give them a good scrub before putting them away and they’ve stayed pretty white. The tub is cute and comes with a little scrub brush.
