I bought these after reading all the reviews. I put them to use today while hiking a state park with ice covered trails, and hundreds of ice packed wood stairs. Not one slip on the entire 6.5 mile hike! Amazing cleats, and I never even felt like I had anything attached to my shoe. The velcro straps are way to small for me attach in any way to the rubber portion of the cleat, but they fit so snugly they didn't budge, so I definitely don't need the straps.     • Great traction and easy to put on and take off
I had fallen on ice twice in the past 6 weeks and I had severe pain in my back and hip because of the falls. I go on photography trips to frozen lighthouses and some areas with a lot of ice. These cleats saved my trip and were amazing. I felt more stable and secure walking on ice than I normally do on a dirt path. I could've ran on the ice if I wanted to, they gripped that good. They take some strength to pull on over my boots, but once they were on, they stayed in place. I was able to walk down what appeared to be an ice slide down to the river. I bought 2 sets. Large for myself (women’s 8.5 shoe) and XL for my son (men’s 10.5 shoe). They likely saved is from a terrible experience this winter. We found ourselves having to climb up and icy cliff to get out of a sticky situation; without them we wouldn’t have been able to do that, and would’ve been lost in the deep woods with no phone signal. I've never used snow cleats before, but repeated freeze-thaws this winter made walking the dog a hazard. These worked much better than I expected: I felt very secure and never lost traction regardless of terrain. Ordered a large, and for a women's size 9 boot, these were slightly too large. They still worked fine, but there was noticeable "slack" and I would occasionally have to adjust them mid-walk because of slippage. ... show more
