I bought this product so I wouldn't slip on the ice when I have to shovel snow from my slanted driveway and the sidewalk. The cleats were a pretty tight fit when I stretched them over my size 13 Keen Targhee III shoes, but when I put them on and shoveled the snowfrom the porch, driveway, and sidewalk, no way could I get them to slip on the ice! Also, the spikes don't poke holes in my wooden steps like my other (cheaper) cleats did (but whadya expect for $10...) Were they worth it? Absolutely. The ease of putting these on and taking them off makes these cleats very practical...but the plain common sense is just EPIC! I wear them just taking out the tras or getting the mail and every time I choose to not take a minute to put these over my boits I instantly regret my foolishness! Breaking a hip or a leg at my age is not a situation I want. These cleats are a life saver and a hip and leg saver!!! Don't wait for another winter...buy them now! Be prepared. ... show more

Solid, well made, almost. In theory a good design. Except when they break, (I was on a mountain side with snow. Connection loop bent and caught the shoe lace loop of other boot, down I went unable to disconnect. Sprained ankle, knee abrasion, broken rib, rescue had to come and bring me down - grabbed a tree on the way down, so could have been a lot worse. A 1 in a 1000 fluke? Do you want to be in those statistics?) They should be fusing the loops so they can't open/bend. ... show more

I read a lot of reviews before buying these. I have only used them once, but I weigh 190 lbs and I saw one review that said they could bend. I was concerned that if anybody could bend them, it would be me. They did not bend. I had to walk on a surface of rain on rippled ice on a hillside. These babies just crunched right through that ice. It felt like I was walking on gravel. I felt so secure! The rubber is thick and heavy. For longer hikes, I have the velcro straps. I may order another pair because these are so much better than other ones I have seen, 23 teeth compared to 8. They are just so much heavier. Time will tell, but they sure seem nice! ... show more

These are great! I like them better than my other crampons for two reasons: It is easier to put on/pull off and the bag is so helpful! I bought a size Large to fit my Oboz women's size 9 waterproof mid-height boots. They fit perfectly. Even if it was a bit loose, there is a strap you can use. I had fallen three times on icy road conditions, so my wife purchased these crampons for walking boots. They are easy to get on and they stay on during walks. They have great stability when walking on trail paths or on icy roads. Liked so much, I bought a pair for my wife.
