My need: I wear short sleeves t-shirts/polos during Summer months but my arms get easily tanned in a few minutes of sun exposure. I do not normally use sunscreen lotion to avoid the SPF chemicals on my skin. So I decided to try these Coolibar Sun sleeves. I'm glad I did. I use them mostly in the car and sometimes around the yard. The product: The fitting is very good, snug fit but not tight. I have ordered the Grey Heather color in Small/Medium size. I'm a male, 5'9" tall, weigh about 160 lbs and medium built. Hopefully the material won't shrink after multiple washes otherwise I will have to order Large size next time. I feel slightly cool on my arms when I wear the Coolibar sleeves. I like that the product is made mostly from natural material: 70% Cotton, 25% Viscose from Bamboo. ... show more

Since this was cheaper and had great reviews, I decided to buy it. So far, it's been great. No sun burns on my arms yet, and these also have a nice cooling feel to them. Product is very nice, but it runs VERY large. I'm 5'11" and 175 pounds and ordered at S/M sleeve. It is really too large for me to wear.

I am white, almost as white as the sleeves, I don't tan I burn it peals and I am white again, I fish and cycle (well handcycle) so my arms would be exposed once again I am white and they work really well they reflect heat and prevent burns the only issue is they white ones get dirty easy and using bleach to get them white again is a bad idea, using bleach on any thing meant to prevent sun burns is a bad idea the material tends to fall apart. READ the CLEANING LABEL, I did an mine are good just like I said they get dingy but also look for bright colors black, is the worst in direct sun light because it absorbs more heat than other colors plus the die to make it black makes the cloth heavier by very little but you can tell, or rather I can tell. ... show more

    • Won't stay up on my arms
I used to buy the cheap arm sleeves that probably aren't trustworthy as far as their sun-protection ratings go because I don't really have the money to spend $20+ on sleeves. I wanted to get something high-quality and that is made by a company who tests their products to ensure it gives protection of UPF-50 so I'm not always second-guessing: First day of wearing the sleeves was great. The sleeves fit as expected and I felt secure knowing I was protected from the sun. I noticed that the sleeves weren't as elastic as the other ones, but I figured that was because this was the real deal, and the others were basically just stretchy material. after the first wash, the sleeves seemed like they got stretched. I didn't mind because as long as they work, I'm happy. but now when I wear them, the sleeves fall down. they constantly fall down. the cheapo $2 sleeves don't even work that poorly. My arms are big, and the sleeves fit nice and snug so it's definitely not the size. I'm extremely disappointed. I just want sun protection quality as well as fit quality ... show more
