These Converse Lugged Heel Platform Waterproof high tops are definitely more than your average pair of Chucks—they’re a mix between a sneaker and a boot, and they make a statement. The first thing you notice is the chunky platform and lugged heel. They add a good amount of height and give that edgy, almost combat-boot vibe while still keeping the classic Converse look. They’re great for fall and winter outfits when you want something a little more elevated than a standard sneaker. Functionally, they’re built for colder, wetter weather. The waterproof upper and cozy lining actually make a difference—I’ve worn them in wet conditions and they hold up well while keeping your feet warm. The traction is also better than regular Converse thanks to the lugged sole. Comfort-wise, they’re pretty good for a platform style. The cushioning helps, but you can still feel the weight of the shoe after a while. That’s kind of expected with this design, but worth noting if you plan to wear them all day. These shoes are great. Dont rely on the size guide because they run small. My heel-to-toe measurement is 9.3 inches, so I opted for a size 8. I could’ve gone up a size, but the toe box isn’t yet too tight. They’re quite heavy, but they’re fully waterproof and have excellent traction. I walked through medium-sized, slippery rocks in the snow and was incredibly comfortable and dry, even without lacing the top two eyelets. The platform is mild. Im 5’10 and don’t feel dramatically taller in these, it’s maybe 1.5-2”. For a decade, I’ve been exclusively wearing the same brand and style of black leather loafers, even on hikes. These shoes are the only other pair I’ve found comfortable to wear. They’re great for grocery shopping, nice enough for outdoor daytime weddings, and sturdy enough for hiking
