I LOVE THESE SHOES!! The first time I put them on, I thought they were going to be uncomfortable forever. But they turned out to break in the 3rd time I wore them! I truly believe the only reason they were uncomfortable for me at first, is because the first and only other time I had wore high top/high rise shoes, was whenever I was really young, so the feeling didn't affect me because babies don't care if they're uncomfortable 75% of the time. Though they were uncomfortable at first, they 1000000% got so so much better! Also, if your stuck on what color to get, (unless your at war with yourself over patters), I definitely recommend getting black AND white. My daughter loves these shoes for a casual shoe at school and on weekends. These were out-of-stock everywhere we looked, but thankfully available on Amazon. The chunky bottom look is apparently what is fashionable these days. My daughter convinced me to buy them for her after pointing out lots of other kids wearing the chunky bottom chucks while we were at the mall. I've owned many Converse / Chucks shoes over the years and these are really no different; same materials and fairly solid construction. Like all Chucks, they are essentially flat bottomed without any arch support. I would recommend treating the shoe with a shoe protectant or scotch guard product in order to keep the shoes easy to clean over time. Great overall purchase. ... show more

Normally converse are very flat. This one has some cushion to it that makes it easier to walk in for long periods of time. Although they are a little heavy, they are comfortable.
