I got these as lifting shoes, as my other athletic shoes have too much padding to be stable for weight lifting. They fit nicely, true to size, and have held up through lots of gym sessions. Color and style are exactly as pictured.

I grabbed these on a whim for a specific outfit, but now I find myself wearing them any time I want something a little cuter than my regular sneakers. I'm definitely a convert! These are much more comfortable than I expected them to be, although they're still not suited for an entire day of walking. I wore them wandering around London for an entire day, and my feet were NOT happy with me by the end. Quality is good, although I don't like that the laces get dirty from the rivets. I bought these for weightlifting shoes as the reviews say they will work well this way. I have a pair of powerlifting shoes but research says they are only really good for squats and Chucks are better for squats and deadlifts. I've been lifting since my dad bought me a junior tot weight set from sears in the late 60's. It helped me a lot since most of my friends at school were 2 years older than me making it much harder to compete in competitive sports at a young age in a small town school. Converse all star were the gold standard of basketball shoe is the 70s. I played at a young age and remember wanting them but only having pro keds my grandparents( bought me. but they bought pro keds deck shoes instead) I took a lot of razing from my team mates that year, harder to fit in when you re the only fid on the team with the wrong shoes. The next year my parents tried to get me the right shoes but they were the converse rejects, (all my team mates knew this at a glance) Another year of razing from my teammates. It wasn't until years later that I realized my parents just did not have the extra money to pay for the Converse all stars. Any way I did get a pair or 2 eventually and they worked great. Once I put these on they took me back in time a little, both good and bad memories. They look and feel extactly the same as the shoe made in the 70s. To the people who claim these are fakes they are mistaken these are the REAL DEAL. The Air Jordans of the 70s.. Most likely the shoes you bought BEFORE were the fakes. THESE are REAL. ... show more
