I started buying Converse Chuck Taylors in the mid 80's when I was in high school. I've owned both the low-top and high-top versions in a variety of colors over the years. Regarding this latest pair, I was glad to see that the tongue now 1) is padded, and 2) has a loop for the laces to feed through. The loop is a great improvement as it really limits the tongue from sliding to one side of the shoe and bunching up, which was a real problem in earlier iterations of the shoe. I'm not sure if this improvement alone justifies the current price of the shoe (I remember when a pair of Chuck Taylors cost about $35) but that's for you to decide.
