Upon trying tile for the cat closet bathroom was disappointed that fluid got between the tile and under. Didn’t protect the wood floor. Decided to pulled a McGyver. This plastic is over the tile which I really like in their closet. Plue, part of the oak wood floor. Worked great for the cats while away for a few weeks. Easy to remove and doesn’t leave residue. Building a catio room with original wood floors that are 123 years old. Will be using this product on the area by the cat boxes. I’ve considered all types of floor options. Linoleum is ideal, but requires glue and other damage to the original floors. Carpet is out of the question. A new wood floor when I like the original is a nope. Since it’s a catio and the original floor is solid and able to handle three kitties and a German Shepherd. This product is the key to compromise. Keep the original floor. Protective to the surface that requires an added protection to increase waterproofing and it doesn’t leave a sticky residue. Even if it does it’s easy to buff or wipe off. The product is a thin clear plastic sheet with adhesive on one side. It is very pliable, with a pleasant matte finish and a nice feel to it. I installed it about 4 months ago on cabinet shelves and it is working quite well. The adhesive is very secure and you can maybe get away with lifting it one time to correct placement errors but no more. Clean your shelf well before applying the liner, even a speck of dust will cause a bump. The product I received was not smoothly placed onto the roll and therefore had some kinks and bumps. Some of these dissipated as the product was applied but not all of them did. There is an advantage in buying it locally so that you can inspect the rolls before purchase. ... show more

    • Perfect for etching glasses
Got this contact paper with etching cream to etch glasses for gifts. We had to etch 30 glasses with a few different designs. Now, that sounds insane. You may be thinking: "that's insane." I hear you. But it's cool, though, because this contact paper maintains its stickiness, even after repeated washings! We reused one cutout of each design over and over for all 30 glasses! The designs were words, a coat of arms, and an original logo. We etched these designs on wine glasses and beer mugs. We cut the designs out of this contact paper using an exacto knife. The results were fantastic. It's a good way to give meaningful gifts that are ultimately very inexpensive. ... show more

The only problem is that it is kind of hard to peel the backing off of the sticky side. I had a hard time trying to peel off the backing while all my students were waiting their turn for the art projects….a bit frustrating. The contact paper is really good quality, though. Once I got a bit of a corner peeled, it came off fine. It’s just hard to get it started so the back will come off. ... show more

This film was exactly what I needed. I got it for stained glass painting craft projects, I painted over it and it works perfect! The adhesive will only work once though, even after putting it on glass (it was easy to remove though), you may get away with may be sticking it to a very clear surface one more time, but then adhesive will be done. But the quality of the film itself is very, very good! It is kind of a little bit foggy, not 100% crispy clear. But for my purposes it was perfect. ... show more

I had read the reviews of this product before purchasing it, so I was fully aware that some people had issues with it sticking to surfaces. My intentions were to put it on a plastic shelving unit, so that probably made it worse. I can say without a doubt that the "stickiness" of this is not as much as I had thought it was going to be... but that ended up being a good thing since I kept placing it in the wrong spot and had to pick it back up and move it. So, the fact that it doesn't have a permanent stick right away was a good thing for me. I realize that the fact that it doesn't stick as well as some people want would make it seem like a bad product, but once it was put in place on my plastic shelf, it worked exactly how I wanted it to. As long as it doesn't hang over the edge then it wouldn't get caught by whatever is going on and off the shelf. I move things on and off the shelves all the time because they are storage shelves, but if you are using this to protect something that won't have a lot of activity, then it should be totally fine. I can only attest to the plastic shelving units (like what you might put in the garage) but I plan on using any extra for other areas that might need it as well. If you are unsure if this will work, try out a smaller batch and see if you like it first. It's not worth jumping straight to the longest size if you think you might not like it. ... show more

I used it to create privacy glass on the window in my bathroom, which is stupidly right in the middle of everything and faces onto the alley. I just stuck it right on the glass. It's the perfect clear-frosty look, without any pattern. Worked well, and hasn't peeled off yet, even in the moist climate. I assume I'll need to re-do it someday but it was simple enough to get on there. ... show more

I put this on top of a stone board I needed to keep clean expecting that I'd be able to remove the contact paper and reapply it as needed. It stuck on relatively well with some spritzes of soapy water. The edges were a little bit of a pain to cut. I should have precut the contact paper so that it fit exactly. Cutting it by running an exacto knife on the side after it was adhered wasn't a great idea because the contact paper stretches. It also wasn't sticky enough to adhere very well on the edges, but was enough for my purposes. After a while, the surface got a bit inconsistent (shiny on some areas), so I prepared to pull it off and reapply a new piece. I had a super hard time pulling it off, and it left a sticky residue that wouldn't come off with any cleaning solution, rubbing alcohol, or 100% acetone (which was a surprise for me). I definitely wouldn't recommend this for anything you need to keep intact with no residue. ... show more
