When you name your jacket for its main function, it better do just that. Good news, the coat lived up to the billing. There are a couple of velcro bindings along the zipper, making for a tight seal. I keep this in my car, packed down into its pouch. Unpacked it does a good job blocking the wind and can be adjusted at the waist and wrists for fit. I was very satisfied with this jacket. It did a good job keeping the wind and light rain out while spending a week in Alaska. Temps ranged 40-50 F every day. I wore a wool base layer with jeans or joggers, and hoodie or flannel button up along with Columbia fleece light jacket under this. I was able to easily shed a layer when temperatures came up, or when hiking. The zipper does hang a bit on the velcro closures but it's not a big deal. I am 5.10 and usually wear medium, but sometimes have to go to a large depending on brand. I tried both lg and med. The medium fit perfectly. The large left a little more room for layers but was to baggy on me when worn without layers. ... show more
