I'm picky about boots and it was difficult to find a pair that fit what I was looking for. I wanted lightweight boots because I didn't want to have heavy, clunky feet. The problem with lightweight usually is poor insulation. With this boot, Columbia's Omni-heat tech seems to work with my body to regulate heat, rather than just overheating my feet with heavy insulation. I hate having hot feet, and I also hate having freezing cold feet and these are the perfect middle ground. I was wearing regular shoes and got cold feet from the winter weather, I decided to put these boots on and ten minutes later the numbness went away, hours later, my feet are very warm. I am very impressed with this product. Best boots I had probably ever. Will buy again.

The insole that comes with these is worthless and even with a quality insole it feels like you are walking on rocks. They are very hard to put on and tight because of the lining. They are warm and work for my daily walks on pavement in cold weather. I hate the pull on strap as it is hard to hold onto and you really need it to get the shoes on. This is my third set of Columbia Fairbanks and my first set of omni heat shoes. The extra insulation makes for a slightly tighter fit. But overall they're still very comfy. These shoes do get quite warm indoors so definitely best as an outdoor shoe. I hope they last as long as my other pairs of Columbia's, as these a quite a bit more pricy compared to the other models ... show more

I have been having issues finding a nice fitting wide winter shoe. This hits the spot. I don't think I would be able to wear two pairs of socks with these but I feel that the width is sufficient. These are stylish and fit well. They're not stiff and have a nice wide toe box. Couldn't be happier.

These are nice winter shoes. They’re light in weight and stylish. I bought a pair in size 12 for myself and a different color in size 10 for my 12yr old son. I returned both pairs because they both fit narrow. I then ordered the same pairs in 12 wide and 10.5 wide. The wide fits more like a normal 12 and 10.5. I wanted 12.5 wide but that size wasn’t available. My suggestion, order wide and a half size larger than your normal shoes size. Unless you like narrow fitting shoes. ... show more

They are light weight and warm. I wore them on a day when it was 35 degrees in the morning and 75 in the afternoon. My feet were warm but not hot at all in the afternoon. Very comfortable and provide plenty of support. The olive green and gum bottom looks great in person.
