First off props to COLORTONE for having 4x+ sizes! OVERALL: Great shirts, great colors, fat man sizes Colortone has two different design sets of tie die shirts. I own EVERY one thats available in 5X. I dont need 5X (yet) but I like a loose fit so buy big. Doesnt everything shrink a lot these days? So in all I have about 24 of these shirts. FIT: As expected for over sized purchase. Sleeve length, collar fit are all good. NOTE: wife says the collar is too small/tight so she cut hers to make a V-neck style and wears them as house/garden shirts now. VERY IMPORTANT! :: HAND WASH these shirts a few times! 90% of the shirts I own are very heavy in dye. THEY WILL COLOR ANY CLOTHES YOU WASH THEM WITH. I soak them for a bit in warm water then hand "wash"/rinse. I do this 3 times for each new shirt. This gets most of the unset dye out. Thankfully the color is not reduced in any I have used. Some of the darker colors (red, blue, purple oh even the heavy orange) need many many wash/rinses before I would dare throwing them into a normal load. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! :D

There was some white stitching on the shirt that seems like it was added after the shirt was dyed. I wouldn’t have a problem with that, but the stitching looked horrible. First, there were two different types of stitching and that looked weird. This was made worse by the fact that the two types of stitching ran into each other. Secondly, there’s areas where the stitching isn’t complete, another area where the extra stitching went off track of the original stitching it was following and you can see that, and there’s areas where the stitching ends prematurely and isn’t even trimmed. I’m all for supporting small business, but not if I feel like I’m not getting what I paid for. I can get a shirt for $4 at target, but chose to spend $10 to support this company. I’m now regretting this. I need this shirt for a spirit day at my daughters school, but I won’t let her wear something that looks like this. I’m extremely disappointed, especially because I’ve gotten other shirts from here that didn’t look like this. Now I have to go out of my way to return this and find another shirt. If your shirts are such poor quality that you have to reinforce the stitching, maybe start with better quality rather than expecting your customers to forego that.

I loved the beautiful neon colors. but hated the cheap way it was sewn together. It looks very very cheap. but worst of all is the stiffness. I wish I had listened to the reviews. I always try to read reviews but do take them with a grain of truth because sometimes . they can say things just to be mean or just too nit-picky or whatever. but when there are a lot saying the same things, you should listen . and this time I didn't. I bought two of them green and pink. and they are both just as bad, they feel like sandpaper and as many reviews said, you can't wash them enough to make them soft it just doesn't help even with all the downy. I truly hope the seller will do us all a favor including himself and purchase some really nice white t-shirts and dye them with the proper dye that won't make them scratchy or run when washed and charge a couple of bucks more. then he can make money and we will buy twice as many because his design is awesome. I would love to have one of each color. it's got to be tough when you're trying to make a living and then to hear all the negative feedback. that has to hurt. so please Mr. /ms seller help us all out here. we're rooting for you. Do not buy this! I got the red ombré shirt and ran it in a rinse load in cold and it bled like crazy. So I started hand rinsing it in the sink and must have rinsed it at Least ten times before it started to get lighter. Left it in the sink overnight. In the morning my sink had a big red stain on it that won’t come out of the plastic. And I started rinsing again and it’s dark red water coming out of it again. I can’t imagine this will ever be safe to wash. And I don’t want to even hang it to dry anywhere because it’ll stain the grout in a tub or shower. I’m probably going to throw it away if I can’t return it. Do not buy.

I'm a petite ladies M/L (just because Im chesty and hate tight clothes). I took a shot on the men's L in royal. Yes, I had to cut the sleeves to make them a little more feminine, but this is seriously a good shirt. I have designer ($$$) tie dyes and I think I like this one better. The color is SO bright and it fits almost like a dress. Its not super wide like some unisex shirts. I think a M would also have worked well. I like it somewhere in the middle so basically I will just let it dry in the drier if I decide I want it a little tighter. I am getting a few others in other colors, and I may take a little off the bottom as well as the sleeves so it fits more like a traditional t-shirt. Love!

I will agree that they don't shrink, colors are vibrant and don't run, material keeps its shape. They are not overly small, but they are not roomy either. I would say true to size if you have a slim build. Very rough material--much rougher than the average tee shirt. Maybe that's better for the dying process, not sure, but I can't say I love them and would buy them again.

Bought this in size 14-16 for my 12 year old who is skinny to average ( weight and height). Though it fit perfectly, it is 100 percent cotton (which is all I’ll buy) so I know it will shrink. Then by next summer it will probably be too small. So I’m returning for the men’s small. I realize now that he has two other tie dye shirts by colortone in a men’s small that also fit perfectly but with some extra length. The men’s small will fit him this school year and next with that bit of added length! Go bigger in the shirt! Also I bought the wine/plum color and the contrast of the two colors was not like in the picture. The lighter shade was almost the same as the darker so it almost looks like a sun faded solid color shirt. Never had this issue with color tone before. The dark purple color was not as deep as pictured either
