This kit includes a junior steer head with stakes, a 25’ high quality kid’s rope, and a small roping glove to protect young hands. Cowboys and cowgirls of any age can be a ropin’ master with Colorado Saddlery’s Kid’s Lariat. The waxed nylon finish gives it that authentic, professional grip and feel. The 5/16” x 25’ lariat is the perfect size for a junior roper in the making. A stainless steel youth spur with a 3/4" band with 3 brass crosses and nickel silver overlay. 1 1/2" shank, 3/4" twelve point rowels and swinging buttons. "The Colorado Saddlery Trinity Cross Kids Spur Straps are hand-oiled to dark mahogany finish with triple cross design, beautiful basket stamping, stainless steel hardware, and boot Protector style." A nickel plated kids spur with a 1/4 inch half round band, 1 1/4 inch shank and 1 1/2 inch five point rowel. Complete with heel chains.

We got this as a play lasso. I’m sure it isn’t a great kids rope if your child was looking to compete at roping, but I honestly wouldn’t know. It is super fun, easy to break in and very easy to use for someone who is just wanting to try their hand at it. It feels legit (hard and waxy, easy to form a loop, easy to hold) and even the adults enjoyed using it. Yes I have horses and I have tried roping years ago, but I have absolutely no idea if this is a good lasso for actual beginner kids. I would highly recommend it for kids who are looking to get a feel for a real lasso to just have fun with though. Excellent! Love it! Read the negative reviews and bought it anyway. Glad I did. It was sticky, yes. But I took the little boys advice and rubbed it over with corn starch. Works perfectly. Great Grandpa toy to entertain his grandkids. Bought another one for my grandson-8 years old.

Crafted very well. Knots are solid and done very well. The rope needs to be seasoned and broken in to work well. So be prepared to spend 30 minutes working the rope. Once you've broken it in a little it works wonderfully. :)

    • Cornstarch takes away the stickiness!
My kids love this lasso! It is very flexible, and they are quickly learning to use it. We had read the reviews about the stickiness, but decided to buy it any way. When it arrived, it was indeed sticky. One of my kids suggested we rub it down with cornstarch. That worked perfectly!! Delivery was about 1 day! I bought it as part of my Halloween costume. I have watched some YouTube videos because I really want to surprise/ impress my co workers with some roping skills!! When I was a kid I could spin a lariat but now that I’m 68, I’ve got some practicing to do! I usually win first prize for Halloween so I think I can this one too!!🤠 ... show more
