This Matalde 100 Gallon Collapsible Rain Barrel Water Collection System works better than I expected. The included assembly instructions are horrible, the list of included parts didn't even match what was included and there was a lot of stuff that simply was mentioned but not explained at all. Setting all that aside, if you're mechanically inclined at all you should be able to handle it. I mostly just figured it out without the instructions since they were almost pointless. The 100-gallon size is perfect for my small back yard garden needs and stores a decent amount of water without being too big that it starts taking up too much space. I'm not a huge fan of the fill method, I wish it had a hose connection of some sort rather than just an open screen in the top, but it does function fine. The overflow is nice to have just in case it does get beyond full here in the rainy PNW. The material seems sturdy yet flexible enough to make it "portable", but I can't imagine ever wanting to take it with me somewhere. I plan on just setting it where I have it and leaving it there for the life of the unit. So the "portability" of it wasn't even considered for me. It came with a valve at the base of the "barrel" and included a quick connect as well as a typical threaded coupler so you can hook whatever hose system you have to it. It also came with another outlet a bit higher up for filling a bucket or watering can. I like that both valves are ball valves, which work much better than a cartridge valve and tend to last longer. I like that I can store a pretty good amount of water for using in my garden during the summertime, reducing my dependance on my water company. Overall I'm happy with it and if you're looking fore a simple, affordable rainwater collection system I would give this one a look. It does function well.

What a great product. For anyone interested in collecting rainwater but can’t have barrels around all of the time, this is a great alternative. When not in use, it folds up well. Lightweight and easy to assemble and use, this makes a great addition to your personal storage supplies.

We got this to collect some extra rainwater. Since it's been raining more this year, we wanted to take advantage of that. This rainwater collection barrel is convenient. It can be set up relatively easily. The rain barrel can collect up to 100 gallons. The barrel has a water filter inside of it to further purify it before being used. We haven't collected any water yet as it hasn't rained any since we got it. However, once it begins raining again, we'll be able to use it to water our flowers. This will help us reduce our dependency on our local water supply. This barrel is very durable for being a large water collection system. This barrel also comes with overflow protection to avoid collecting water around the barrel if/when the barrel becomes full. I like how it has a level on the side to see how much water has been collected. There's also some sturdy feet around the bottom of the barrel to keep it as level as possible. The barrel also has a couple of spigots for water release. It's got a white spigot on the side around the middle and a spigot at the bottom with a red switch. This allows water to be released no matter what the level of water inside the barrel. The filter is at the very top of the barrel. This barrel is a great value for it having so many features on it. I enjoy how this barrel collapses down for storage to avoid getting damaged outdoors in between seasons (i.e. from late fall to spring).
