This is the fourth pair of these loafers I've owned over the years. I think they are a good value. They fit true to old shoe sizing (seems like the last 20 years, American shoe makers sizes are a half size too big, or at least a half size bigger than they used to be. I've been an 8 1/2 for years and have to order size 8 in a lot of brands. In Cole Haan, 8 1/2 still works perfectly. These are definitely dressy enough for business casual. They are comfortable and durable.

My usual shoe size for most Cole Haan shoes is 9.5 and thought this shoe would be no different. But it turned out a little longer (I can squeeze a finger between my ankle and the back part of the shoe, if that makes sense) Thicker socks would help, but I'd normally prefer thin, low cut socks for a loafer like this. The width though is spot-on (9.5W) - and needed no break-in at all. Since I live overseas, too much hassle to send it back. The challenge now is to get the correct socks.

If you’re like me and had the original version of the Venetian by Cole Haan, this is not it. This is very stiff leather, not inviting at all, the original was very soft. Does not have the same toe shape or stitching, or sole. Not sure why Cole Haan ruined the original, it was a beautiful shoe.
