These shoes are very stylish. However, the lack of comfort earns them 3 stars. On the plus side, the shoes look very sharp with casual outfits as well as dressy looks. While the thick mesh material they are made of does stretch and flex while still feeling firm and supportive, the shoes run very narrow. I have never had to buy wide shoes in my life, but I would be more comfortable in a 10W than in the pair of 10s I bought. The length runs true to size. Unfortunately, the soles are not very supportive at all. After my first few wearings, the soles had collapsed and any softness and support was pretty much gone. My toes and arches were cramping as soon as i put them on after about a week. I put arch support insoles inside and now they are adequately comfortable in the soles. A lingering problem is the chafing of the leather loop tab on the back heels. It's fine if i wear thicker socks or a bandaid on my Achilles, but the lack of comfort is alarming for a shoe in this price range. I'm surprised these are Cole Haan because I've never had these issues with their brand in the past. ... show more

    • Great looking, but tight fitting shoe

This is my second pair of these. My first pair has worn extremely well. Breathable and lightweight, these tend to be my go-to shoe for summer outings where I need something more than a gym shoe. I have a black pair and really wanted a complementary blue pair. After receiving, the shoe was VERY tight on top, under the laces. I immediately adjusted by loosening the laces (obviously). I ran out of enough lace to still be able to tie the shoes. Long story long, I figured out exactly how much lace to leave to tie the shoes and give the maximum amount of loose. They are still pretty tight. Borderline uncomfortable. I am wearing the shoes a minimum of 3 times a week at work to try and break them in. I really love the look of these things, but this is a bit frustrating. By the way, I am an average sized human with an average weight for a adult male. My feet are also average in every way possible (my partner says they are "boring average"). The length of the shoe is perfect. Its just the tightness surrounding the foot and you really feel it on the top of the foot. ... show more
