Trying to decide on a pair of gloves can be stressful as it is so I hope this review helps someone out there decide or narrow down their options! Right off the bat, the leather smell hits you when opening the package and the style of the glove is very attractive. Trying on the glove, they are very snug for 14oz (possibly more snug than my other 12oz gloves) and I will mention I have a small-moderate hands so no complaints here, definitely something to keep in mind when picking out the size. As mentioned, a tight fit but very secure nonetheless. Sufficient wrist support and compact padding which means great feedback when landing punches. These will be my go-to training gloves for padwork, bag work, and possibly occasional sparring but these are known as puncher's gloves and I definitely understand what they mean by that. Get a separate pair of gloves strictly used for sparring in order to protect your fellow boxing partners. I would rate these 9/10 and with the free 2 day shipping from Amazon, $200 is worth the investment! ... show more

Absolutely gorgeous pair of boxing gloves. Great leather smell. Cletos are legendary and live up to the hype. Both my gloves weighed in at 16.2 ounces so reasonably within range. My only complaint is the baggy liner but it doesn't bother me while training.

When I first got these gloves, I was quite worried because they are TIGHT and very uncomfortable. I mean, even getting your wrapped hands in them was very difficult. You couldn't do 2 rounds on the heavy bag without wishing you could finally take them off. Very tight, very uncomfortable. But don't despair. They take a few weeks and some patience and eventually they break in nicely. I've had them for some months now and they are great. They're comfortable, they hit hard with a nice pop on the heavy bag and they're very nicely made, great quality. I train 4 days a week and have them on for more than an hour at a time and have no problems whatsoever. Cleto Reyes definitely know how to make boxing gloves. ... show more

I love these gloves they do feel lighter than my other 16 oz but they're super solid I wish they had a bit more of a pop but the pop is pretty good so far they're amazing!

    • Pretty nice but a little tight
I really like these gloves so far but I will say some of the previous comments may be correct. I'll have to remember to come back later and update my review. I have large hands and I saw that people with larger hands may have an issue. One glove fits fine where the other is probably just a hair too small but it hasn't affected anything yet as far as its use. The other issue is the elastic strap that is inside the cuff is pretty tight. When just putting my hand in the glove it's fine but when I put on a wrap it makes it very difficult to get past that elastic due to the wrap catching on it and since you already have one glove on I have to ask for assistance to get the elastic pulled up so I can get past it with my hand. I haven't used the gloves enough yet to say they are broken so this may be the issue. The padding on them are excellent and protect my hands well. They have awesome wrist support which I really like also. Overall I like the gloves and hope the break in period will help out. ... show more
