UPDATE: Last year I took the covers off to wash them, they were a year old. The covers were mildewed and washing didn't remove all the black embedded into the fabric. My pillows under the covers do get funky over time. I am disappointed in the cover in that they should have been vented. The material is lined to make them water resistant though mine do not get wet. Luckily they fit loose on my chairs so wind can circulate a little around the chair. In Florida every thing mildews, venting is important. ORIGINAL: These Classic Accessories Veranda Patio Lounge Chair Covers are just covers. I was surprised to read on the inside packaging to "remove cushions before covering to prevent mildew".....what? There are no vents on these chair covers. My loveseat cover, from another manufacturer, that coordinates with these covers, has vent pockets. I assumed all covers come with vents! Luckily, my furniture is on a covered lanai, so they never get wet, and my cushions are staying under the covers. I hate the pollen and dust getting all over my cushions that after 6 years I decided its time to cover the furniture. I hate looking out and seeing the covers but the time has come to keep it clean! I got these as an open box item, "used-like new" and they came perfect. I had ordered a 'used-very good" and got a table cover and had to return it since it was the wrong item. These fit very loose, I wish they weren't so big but this size is what fit my dimensions. They have one strap at the back leg to keep them from blowing away. Really, one strap??? If these were outside one strap would not keep the cover from blowing away, there should have been 2-4 leg straps. There is an elastic draw string that tightens the bottoms marginally. Again, my chairs are in a covered enclosed lanai so that is not important to me, they can not blow away or really get wet. For those using these in outside elements, think twice about your needs and these covers.

I bought these covers just in time for the rain! These covers are fully water proof. I had a leak in the patio roof and there was a waterfall right in the center of my round table/chair set and one of the lounge chairs was left out but covered so it also got drenched. The covers kept all of it protected and NO water leaked thru! The fabric is thick and sturdy and durable. I am so glad I bought these covers! I bought 2 for the lounge chairs and one big one for our round fireplace table with 6 tall chairs and they all fit snug. If you want you outdoor furniture to last I highly recommend these covers. ps. I really didnt want to buy them, my husband insisted, Im so very glad I did!

So the good news is that the covers lasted a little over 3.5 years of year round exposure to the elements in the hot North Carolina summer and random snowy winters with a couple hurricanes and torrential rains thrown in since I first bought these covers in late 2015. They finally tore beyond any ability to repair (with duct tape) so I finally bought another set. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how long they lasted. The covers started to fade after the first year, which didn't bother me at all. They started developing tears a little after 2 years of use. Given that these covers come with a 3 year warranty, I contacted the company at that point, only to find out that they considered what I described as normal "wear and tear" and thus the tears were not covered by their warranty. So any damage from sun and weather exposure from using the cover for what it was designed for isn't covered by their warranty. So... what exactly does the warranty cover? Anyway, it wasn't worth the headache of dealing with customer service so I just patched up the holes with good ole duct tape. As new tears developed, I used more duct tape, and the covers lasted another 18 months or so before finally getting to the point where they were beyond repair and it looked like duct tape was slowly replacing the whole thing. Given that these covers lasted almost 4 years, I'm pretty satisfied. The covers stayed on my chairs without any problems, and the material surprisingly stayed waterproof during the whole time. I just bought another set to replace the ones that just disintegrated. That's probably a pretty good endorsement for these covers.

I'll come back to update if our opinion changes. We live right on the ocean and can get hit hard with both hot sun as well as rough New England weather so we need something able to survive. Initial reaction: solid construction with good seams stretch cord, straps and plastic connectors look like they'll last fabric is heavy duty and color is consistent between teh 2 items received (so far... several more coming this week) vents also look good and like they'll be effective

I bought these to protect my new patio chairs from the elements. Have had only minimal rain with one storm being brief and heavy. Lots of humid and hot weather with high dew points. I noticed droplets of water on the underside of the covers even when the top is dry so I am thinking this is condensation. Not what I expected would happen. It defeats the purpose of the covers. I know these are not waterproof but rather water repellent which is definitely evident. Just disappointed.

Not only is the quality superior, they are easy to put on and off, but you can also wash them in the washer if need be with nothing but they look great results. At first these covers were fantastic. After 6 months they became brittle both ripped in multiple places just taking them off. They're not good in direct weather or sunlight. If you purchase these, make sure your patio furniture is under some kind covering and out of direct sunlight.
