This 4.5 ounce tube of self-tanning gel by Clarins is easy to apply and dries quickly. I'm new to the self-tanning products, but I am already impressed with the results. The resulting color is golden - it doesn't look oddly orange and it applied evenly. I'd say the images shown in the ad are representative of the resulting color. The color starts appearing after about 4 hours and should last several days. I usually don't like fragrance but this product had a light tropical smell; maybe a coconut scent that was pretty pleasing to me. Reminds me of summer on an island. This gel uses a secret weapon ingredient: Erythrulose which is a slow reacting sugar that builds a more stable, long-lasting tint that looks more like a real tan. And because the product hydrates for 24 hours with the addition of the Aloe and Fig, your skin doesn't get flaky so the color wears off more evenly. My ghostly legs will be presentable for summer this year, and I feel comfortable applying a product made by Clarins.

I start faux tanning in late April to start up that summer glow. I use st tropez express and jergens in light. They are very different from each other, and I am seeing that this Clarins is the happy medium in between the 2. There is a light color guide which is really helpful to reduce streaks and patches. This can be used on the face, but I have not tried that yet. I can react to face application of tanner. Application was nice with a lotion/gel like texture which I really liked. It glides nicely over the skin and doesn’t catch on dry spot or crinkly areas like the elbows ankles and knees. I used a mit for my body and it worked really well. Not a strong smell and no smell after showering next day. The tan color so far is very pretty leaning more golden, no orange. I would build this again with 1-2 more applications for summer, but for early spring the first application color is enough to give a little oomph to my fair tone.

I'm a big fan of Clarin's products, and this self-tanning gel is another winner for me. After too much sun exposure in my younger days, I now try to stay out of the sun as much as possible these days. And when I am outside, I wear a big hat and use plenty of sunscreen, so my days of getting a golden bronze glow from the sun are long gone. While I'm glad I'm taking better care my skin, I don't love looking so pale all the time, so this tanning gel has been a great alternative. Unlike other self-tanners I've tried, this gel goes on smoothly and spreads evenly without streaks or blotchiness. The color looks natural, without the orange tone that’s so common with self-tanning products. I also like that it builds well, so I can reapply for a deeper color if I want. I may miss my days of laying out in the sun, but this product gives me a similar glow without the damage. It’s a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way, and I don’t mind paying more for something that works this well.

Oh noooo, don't let me get addicted to this stuff. It's like being healthy in a tube. I went a little overboard just to see if 3 applications would turn orange, a teensy bit but not really. Note my camera phone always pulls more red (it's an unlocked samsung I got overseas, and not a western phone) and it just pulls more warmth. The tanning gel actually looks more mellow in real life especially after drying. The dewy-glowy look really amps up before it dries down. There is a faint scent, not sure where to place it but it's nice and inoffensive. It kept my skin hydrated even though I have super dry skin. I would probably mix this with a moisturizer still - and go to town looking like I just stepped out of a magazine shoot ;-) Love Clarins, love they are still family owned and not owned by E.L. that owns everything these days.

I have fair skin and this self-tanning gel gives me a natural golden glow without making me look orange. I apply it after exfoliating and it spreads easily over my legs and arms without catching on dry spots. My skin stays hydrated while the color develops, and I love that it feels more like a skincare treatment than just a tanner. There is barely any scent, it dries quickly, and the color comes out even and buildable. After a few applications my skin looks sun-kissed and healthy, and I feel confident showing it off.
