I have bought Christopher Knight furniture before and new what to expect. I have 2 CK chairs in my bedroom, they are 7 years old. They were very stiff when new but broke in well within a few months and we love them, have held up well. These recliners are also very stiff but I know they will break in well. I do not like to be swallowed by my furniture. I have back issues and need firm support. They are very beautiful, love the curved backs and nail head trim. My husband is 6'2 and just fits. I did not want huge ugly recliners. Your feet are not suppose to be on the leg rest, your ankles should completely hang off for proper ergonomic support. I have them on each side of the fireplace, bought them for our retirement chairs. They look gorgeous with my farm house chic style. I also have 2 matching camel back sofas in the room. If you want beautiful reclining chairs that do not take up the whole room, buy these. Be patient for the break in period. ... show more

Very beautiful and easily assembled, but this chair is hard as a rock, not comfortable at all. Also, no neck support, so the use of a neck pillow would be advisable. The push back is so difficult, I have to forceably thrust myself backwards to get it to recline. Having to do this, I doubt it'll last a year. Because of these negatives, I'd say it is over priced. Next time I purchase a chair that I'd use daily, I'll go to a showroom where I can try it out. $434 is way to much to spend and be this dissatisfied. ... show more

If you do not have a place to sit, sit on the floor. Do not buy this chair. The only good thing I can say about this chair is that Amazon is sending a truck to pick the chair up and giving me a full refund. Why should you not buy this chair? The nail heads are randomly placed, no symmetry at all. The picture online showing the chair has perfectly placed heads. This chair had nail heads that were 1 inch apart, others that were a quarter inch apart. It was noticeable from across the room. Very poor craftsmanship. Another glaring example: On the back of the chair the fabric has been stapled. That's acceptable. It is not acceptable to be so careless as to put staples in clear view on the front of the chair. The chair was packed so poorly that the fabric was actually damaged in transit. The only thing covering the chair in the box was a thin fabric, not secured by tape around the product. Recliners are shipped with the seat on the bottom of the box and the back lying across the seat. The top of the chair back, on the front side mind you, had rubbed against the chair arm to such an extent that the fabric was completed discolored with the fabric fibers almost worn through. We did not even unwrap the bottom of the chair. It took very little observation to realize this was not an acceptable product. We had just purchased two chairs the week before from one of Amazon's major competitors. Those chairs came in a sturdy box and wrapped in a heavyweight plastic that was so securely taped around the product that there would have been no way the chair could have been damaged in transit simply by rubbing against another part of the chair. And guess what. The nail heads were perfectly placed, completely symmetrical. But probably the worst insult was that the chair from Amazon was $540 so I would have expected a decent product. The chairs from the behemoth in Arkansas were $299 each. So, a word to the wise. Be very wary of this chair. I am not anti-Amazon in any way. I checked my order record and in the past 3 years we have had 349 orders for one retired couple. All personal, no business orders. But I must say I cannot believe Amazon is selling and shipping a product this poor. And Christopher Knight, I read some really good things about you on the web. But putting your name to this type product will damage your reputation. ... show more

    • Chair arrived unfinished
Easy to assemble, comfortable, and appears to be well-made. On the back of the chair, along both sides and top of the back is decorated with brass brads. on the left side of the back, lacks several brads, which is unfinished; several rows. Amazon returned partial credit, as I could not return the chair because I threw away the box and packing the chair was packed in. Four people, including myself overlooked this unfinished part. Note to self: ALWAYS examine the entire product before throwing away the packaging! Amazon was gracious in trying to satisfy my issue, so no problems their. My overall rating is 2 stars because of the missing decorative brads, Easy to overlook. Very disappointing, but it's my bad 'cause it was overlooked by me and 3 other people putting it together. ... show more

I was looking for a compact chair for my den and living room areas. I live in a very old house (200+ years old), and I have narrow doorways. I wanted a wing back chair or a recliner, and after looking around for several months, saw this one on Amazon. I read the reviews but took a chance on the chair because it looked to be the right size. I ordered two chairs, one in the Warm Stone, and the other in Charcoal. The Warm Stone chair arrived yesterday, two days earlier than expected. The box was pretty beat up on the outside, but the chair was packed well inside. I had my son carry the chair, back, and bottom, inside for me. It took me about 10 minutes to attach the feet and put back on the chair. The chair fits my den perfectly. As far as comfort, the chair is as others reported: stiff. It is also rather small, so bigger individuals might want to look elsewhere. The back is not as high as I expected, so I put a pillow behind my head when semi-reclined and fully reclined. I think the chair is very sturdy and offers really good support. I actually fell asleep in it while watching TV. Overall, for the price and the fast delivery, this chair exceeds my expectations. ... show more
