I ordered these because chocolates that look like gold coins are a holiday tradition. I bought these because they reminded me of this tradition. I tried them out myself and the aluminum foil comes off easily - it doesn’t tear - you just lift off a corner of it and you can access the chocolate. The chocolate is delicious! It wasn’t discolored or white or melted. When you first taste it, I tasted a little bit of a nutty flavor like hazelnut which was very pleasant. These just melt in your mouth whole and you’ll want more than one. I think the price of $15 is fair at holiday time but for 1/2 pound, which isn’t that many, I’d prefer a price of around $10-12. They are nicely presented in a small box and none of the coins were misshapen. Receiving gold coin chocolates is a fun treat no matter your age. Given that the chocolate tasted so good and it was so creamy, I think splurging and spending $15 on these was worth it. I wonder if the aluminum wrappers can be recycled? ... show more

My box was old and worn looking. The label was old and worn looking to the point you can"t read it. Some coins fell out of the box and into the mailing envelop in transit. There weren't 70 pieces. We checked out a couple pieces of the chocolate and they had pale spots that looked like they were left over from last Christmas. I'm really disappointed because we thought we hit a gold mine for our granddaughter who has a nut allergy and loves choclate. We were going to divide these up and put them into our grandkids Christmas stockings. That's not happening.We learnt a lesson with this order. The gold coin wrapped chocolate is a good idea for stockings, however the chocolate itself was cloudy and tasteless. Had I known I would not have wasted my money on this product! We have better choices out there folks.
