The fiber density creates a thickness that increases its effectiveness as a drying towel. I think it is versatile enough to be great for pet drying, for boats and other uses....but in our house this is strictly used for auto/RV drying. It is easy to launder and I prefer to lightly dry on low, but finish up air drying. I think this is a great value for the price. I bought this towel a couple years ago and I am happy to say it’s far and away the best drying towel I have ever used. I only use it on my 1962 Ford Thunderbird, and it easily dries that boat of a car. In fact I have a selection of towels, soaps, polishes, and other cleaning supplies just for The ‘Bird. Update: After washing three times, the performance of these towels went from meh to wow! They are indeed super absorbent and I can almost completely dry my Crown Signia with one towel, and it’s not a small car. I recommend washing with mild detergent two or three times with extra rinse, then tumble dry on low. This removes the lint and fluffs them up to work their full potential. Original: I’m skeptical about the rave reviews. Not that I think they’re fake but some people get carried away. My experience is that these towels are not nearly as absorbent as some say. One said they could dry a Corolla with one towel. Another said they could dry two cars back to back. Maybe they have a different idea of “dry” than I do. Took three towels to dry an Avalon. Yes it’s bigger than a Corolla but not twice the surface area. I bought two high quality super soft bath sheets for little more than the cost of one of these. The bath towels are huge and super soft. Certainly should not scratch a clean car that’s had any spray on coatings let alone a ceramic or high quality wax. One bath sheet pretty much dried the whole car for half the price. I could see one of these detailing towels drying a whole car if you blow off most of the water with a leaf blower first. But I wouldn’t recommend using a blower, and please no for your shop air compressor. Both will have micro bits of dirt and debris hitting your pain surface at higher speed. Use a towel instead. But WASH THEM FIRST or you’ll be leaving a lot of lint on your paint. Learned that the hard way, had to totally rewash the car. Preferably wash the towels two or three times before use. ... show more

Bought this for my fiance, and he said it's the best drying towel he's ever used. Before getting this, when he'd wash his truck, he would end up using like 10 plus microfiber towels to dry his vehicle. He can dry his entire truck and my car with this one towel.     • Life saver if you have hard water

Edit: 3 years later and still works great. Got another one for when I get to wash the gt500 and the truck the same day, one on each car. The towel is large so once it start to get soaked it's hard to get water out of it, second towel solved that problem. Stick them both in the washer after use in the gentle cycle and a bit of CG's towel washer/shampoo or watever they call it, hang them to dry overnight. This towel is a life saver if you have hard water like I do. You throw it over the body, pat it down here or there if it did not land flat on the car's body, then just pull right off. And just like that ALL the water is GONE from the car. Took 3 minutes to dry the entire car with this towel alone. Yes, it does leave a few bits of lint here and there. But at least in my case it is not an issue because my car is covered with ceramic so it'll blow right off with the slightest of breezes. I've only used this once so far and it was washed right after it was used to dry the car. The link may or may not be an issue after it was washed after the first use, we'll see. But you know what?! I'll take a lint here and there for a couple of minutes over the hard water spots any day any time! ... show more
