This is the real thing in a kids size. My husband has one and the only thing this doesn't have is the sleeve pocket for a thermometer. Otherwise he reports this is a higher quality than his own (which he isn't a professional, it was from a restaurant supply). My 9 year old wants to be Gordon Ramsey for Halloween. Of course that meant a good quality chef's coat and I was delighted to find this one for him to wear. Its only a tiny bit large on him but we live in New England so that just means he can wear a sweatshirt underneath comfortably.
