I was excited about this hat for a couple of reasons. One, I love retro 50s diner colors like teal and pink. Second, I hope that this pink hued chef's hat that I ordered for my culinary students might inspire the female students of the class. But if a boy student wants to wear it - that's awesome too. The fabric is a little heavier than I would like. Not the fault of the manufacturer. It's just that our kitchen can get a little hot in the late summer and spring. Thankfully, there's a hole in the back of the hat that will allow a little bit of venting. Also, the loop allows for you to store the hat on a hook. The hat is adjustable. It uses Velcro, which typically I'm not a fan of for a chef's hat as the tiny hooks can sometimes poke your head if you don't have the two adhesive straps flush together. Kudos to whoever designed this hat, as it's the softer felt strap that is sewn into the side of the hat that faces the back of the head, preventing irritation.

I got this chef's hat for a friend that is a chef. He loves it. It fits great because it is adjustable. He wears a black chef's smock, so this hat compliments his outfit. He looks great in it and it gives him a really professional look.

This chef hat is very small. It says "men women kids" but I can't imagine any adult sized head reasonably fitting into this hat. The material is nice, and it seems well made, but it does not fit my head. It's perfect for my 10 year old though.

Do I NEED to have a matching red chef’s hat to cook with my red apron? No. Do I believe it allows me to channel the culinary prowess of only the most adept experts that would make even the gods jealous? Yes. This is such a handsome, striking hat, and it has an adjustable Velcro backing meaning no matter how big your head is (like mine, George Lopez sized) it will fit securely and comfortably. I don’t always whip it out, like if I’m just making brunch or something. But when I make a point of busting this bad boy out you know you’re about to get served food that will redefine the meaning of indulgence.
