This large is actually an American size large. Sizing is so difficult online. Most people don’t have time to measure themselves and most people don’t know the inches or centimeters they are around. Which makes buying clothes online a real lottery. This chefs jacket is awesome for me, albeit a bit big. I wear a medium in most American stores, but online I might be anywhere from a large to x-large. This jacket is a roomy large. It does have shape to it, but since it is a bit big on me you can’t see it very well. There are pleats on the sides of my chest. It is not at shaping as I would like. I wish it had a tie in the back to allow for a more fitted look. A tie in the back would also allow this uniform to be fitted to more sizes, Or fluctuating sizes. Creating a win win for consumer and seller. The material is heavier, almost a little heavier than the uniforms I wore in culinary school. I worry about getting too hot in this. This is more for a “front of the house” chef station, looking good for an interview or business proposal. Which is exactly what I plan to use it for. It isn’t light enough for everyday cooking.

I got this chef coat for my 13-year-old daughter who’s really getting into cooking and wants to pursue it more seriously, and she absolutely loves it. The fit is great on her. Not too bulky but still gives that classic chef coat look and feel. The material feels durable without being too heavy, which is important when you’re moving around in the kitchen. She can stay cool and comfortable even when grease splatters. One thing I really appreciate is how well it washes. We’ve already run it through the laundry, and it held its shape nicely without fading or looking worn, which is a big plus for something that’s going to see a lot of kitchen use. It does exactly what you’d expect. Protects clothing, looks professional, and makes her feel more confident and “official” while cooking. Toptask's Chef Coat uses thick, high-quality material and fits well. I ordered an XS for my daughter and it was true-to-size with proportional hip and shoulder areas and a flattering cut. The sleeves are easy to fold up and stay put, and the buttons slip in and out of their holes without struggle, which is a relief since I’ve had a lot of issues with buttons being too tight in the past. The coat is a true white, crisp and clean, and the overall look is streamlined and professional. Sewing is the only thing that could be better with this coat. Mine had far too many loose threads, a few uneven seams (though fortunately not in noticeable areas), and one seam I’ll need to fix soon due to unraveling thread. I suspect mine is a one-off, though, given the quality of the design and materials. Even if that isn't the case, it's worth getting. It's much nicer than I expected from a value jacket.

I ordered this for my wife, who likes to wear a chef’s jacket when she is doing serious cooking. She’s quite petite and the extra small fits well, though not a lot of extra room. The double-breasted design is nice and gives it a formality and a very tailored look. The upright collar is stiff enough to look right, and there is a pocket on the left arm for small items. The only negative comment from my wife is that the fabric is on the stiff side; not as soft as her other chef’s jacket. But hopefully this softens up after the first washing.
