Bought these for a company event and then gifted them to my grandkids (hey, I bought them with my personal money - calm down). 1) Didn't need a work comp claim from horseshoes at a company event and 2) Didn't need grandkids bouncing cement horseshoes off each others heads. Don't get me wrong - they'd hurt if you got wacked with them, but they're probably not going to require stitches and bed rest. They're not going to be as sturdy as stakes that are driven 10' into the ground mind you - but, they do the trick. They're fun. Pretty sure my daughter resold them on Facebook Marketplace because she was afraid of horseshoe injury, but in my day - if there was no blood, you weren't even trying to have fun! ... show more

I got this for a retirement home that I worked for because I thought it would be fun for the residents to keep them active. Normally the residents are hesitant to participate but when they saw how much fun it was they all quickly jumped in to join the fun!!!! This is fun for kids and adults . The little stakes are not very strong I'd recommend getting wood stakes to stay put . But worth the money

The horseshoes themselves are a sturdy plastic/ rubber like material that have a decent weight. This makes it safer than metal shoes for kids and some adilts. The drawback is the stakes.: lightweight plastic that cannot be pushed into anything other than sand. But, pick up a pair of 24" rebar rods and this is a decent fun set. I'd buy again. ... show more
