I purchased this as a Christmas present and while it hasn't been gifted yet I did the initial setup and quality testing so that when the recipient opens it on Christmas morning it's all signed in and ready to use. The battery life was remarkable, after setup and restoring from a backup then letting it sit with the screen set to not auto off it retained battery life of 85% for over 9 hours. When I put the Fire into sleep mode by closing the magnetic capable case the battery only went from 85% to 82% and that was after not touching it for almost 26 hours. I will faithfully from now on seek out a certified refurbished item before a brand new one, it is a great savings and just as great of quality!

Respectfully I disliked that no one mentioned the change in size HD Fire Tablet 11th Generation versus the HD Fire 10 Tablet 7th generation so now I had to get a new Tuatara Which is still like new would've worked if My new Refurbished 11th generation was just a Lil larger and the Camera in the Middle. I should get my new Tuatara by Sunday night. But I would've order it together had I known by the way I did my part with my trade in. I haven't gotten any 20% off discount. .The other thing I didn't like. Whole foods would go find the Amazon return lady. She was gone it took about 10 min to get her. Unfortunately I was on my way to work. I do understand people need a break but someone should have been there . Imho. Okay I like my New Refurbished Fire Tablet HD 10 11 generation. I work during the week so after church tomorrow I will really put it back on. It came wrapped up nice. Thank You Refurbish dept and Amazon Warehouse. Merry Christmas.

I've only had this Amazon Certified Refurbished Fire HD 10 tablet, 10.1", 1080p Full HD, 64 GB, latest model (2021 release) for a couple of days now . I installed Google Play by an Application called "Fire Tool Box". You can do a search on how to do this on YouTub. Once Google Play was installed I put a few of my android go to apps on it and now it is very usable (Brave browser, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Onenote, Microsoft Onedrive, Adobe Acrobat, YouTube, Only Office, Google Drive, Google Docs, MySword, Yahoo Mail, on line Banking, etc). For the money you can't beat it, really. If you are looking for a inexpensive tablet, then this is it. I also bought a $10.00 screen protector (pack of two) and a CoBak Case for the Fire HD 10 Tablet 2021 model The case is a Slim, Folding Stand Folio Cover for the Fire 10 with Card Pocket... it works standing it upright and yo hold if you choose. Total purchases with tax on all items was $118.90. This was a "NEW" tablet they sent me, not Refurbished model. At one time these tablets sold for $169.99 new, now they are $85.99, "NEW". Good deal What I mostly purchased this tablet for is so I can listen to pdf books with the text to speech option with Adobe Acrobat. The voice I'm using is the Great Britain, Brian. I tried using my Laptop with Windows 11 and with Adobe Acrobat text to speech to listen to a pdf book but the voice sounded terrible. Tablet text to speech voices sound much better to listen to. You can use the Amazon Kindle app to listen to books you purchase from Amazon as well with the text to speech option. I use this tablet daily for this feature. I did watch a movie on Netflix to see how well it would be and it works, something close to you but any distance from you may as well use something with a bigger screen. Picture quality was acceptable.

Since retiring I try to make my massive Social Security money go as far as it can. So when I needed a new tablet I chose Kendell Fire. My concern was like everyone, what if it does not work. I have had no problems with my tablet. My wife was a bit upset that I had the larger (10) and faster tablet then she did. I just told her it was guy thing and I didn't do it just to upset her (ok maybe a bit). I did look at a lot of reviews. Why would someone having problems not call right away? I saw a couple of reviews that had issues right out of the box. Why did they not call the help desk? I would suggest that you get the warranty just in case and dont forget these units have a short return to Amazon policy.

Always bought brand new on sale but a recent tablet purchase for my mother failed after only two months or so, wouldn't turn on anymore. Return process was a major pain at first but it got sorted out. Since there were no sales I replaced it with a refurb unit and it was like brand new for less than half the price. All good so far! So I decided to buy a refurb for myself as a 2nd beat around tablet that I can take outside to places and not care as much if something happens to it. Typing this review right now from a 3rd party bluetooth keyboard. All I can say is get it!!! for the price it's unbeatable. I've used my other tablet for video interviews and got hired at a company and the simplicity of using it for Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams, etc was a god send and easier and more positionable than doing it on my PC with a webcam. Check my other review that I will post after this one about the wireless keyboard case. It's like a mini laptop for $100!!! Don't hesistate or worry that it's a refurb, that fact that it is means they've corrected any known issues ;-)

Attempting to set up this Fire, the brightness would come on and then dim to a point where setting up was difficult. It took a while to get the setup done even though it was difficult (most of the time) to see the keyboard (I have 81 year old eyes). Finally, after successfully finishing setup (over an hour because of the brightness problem), I was able to get to Settings and actually change the Brightness setting to something I could see properly. The manufacturer of the Amazon Fire must either allow the brightness setting to be adjusted prior to setup, or automatically set the brightness setup to high for setup and allow the user the adjust after setup is concluded. I would suggest that many Fire Tablets have been returned to Amazon by users unable to setup or use because of the Brightness problem. This should be relatively easy to fix by the manufacturer making a simple change in the program that loads the Fire Software.
