Love this saddle. Super light, very comfortable and fits any horse! Also the shipper is very quick to respond. Sizing is a little off. I weigh 180 but am 6 foot tall. The seat size recommended was XL. Way too big.

So I know this is the newer version but I wanted one like the older version. This is a lot more like an English saddle. The seat is higher so I sit pretty tall on my horse which I don’t need cause he’s already tall. The saddle is nice and comfortable but I wasn’t expecting the seat to be so high. This saddle is very comfy! My horse seems to enjoy the lightness and padding as well. It does slip like a bareback pad, so I use an aussie saddle pad underneath.

    • I really like the saddle for being treeless and light
I really like the saddle for being treeless and light, so does my QH. He has some back issues and he does not complain at all when I go to saddle up.......But had to buy the breast collar as saddle slipped back on my high withered boy and am waiting for tacky saddle pad and neoprene cinch as there is now a problem slipping side to side......But I really believe this is going to work with these minor adjustments? I am a senior rider, so is my horse, we both want Comfort. Hope this helps....with all that said, I would buy this saddle again. ... show more

    • The G2 is not as close contact as the original soft saddle. I personally do not like the G2.
Some years ago I got the Cashel Soft Saddle. I LOVE that saddle. I used it every time I rode for the last, I think at least 7 years. Alas, nothing lasts forever. It began to crack and flatten out a bit so I decided to get a replacement. Of course I wanted the same great saddle so I called the Cashel company and was informed that they moved their manufacturing plant and no longer have the room to keep making the soft saddle I was looking for. I then decided I would try the G2. Well, it is not a close contact soft saddle as I expected. It is more like a dressage saddle with the longer sides and places you in a more dressage like position. I have a 13 year old quarter horse and the G2 fit him very well. I however do not like how thick and stiff the G2 is. I was unable to give him the signals I usually do with my feet and legs because of the thickness of the sides. I am sending this back and will continue to look for a soft saddle like the Cashel G1. On a positive note, it seems to be very well made and sturdy. This is no surprise I have always like the Cashel product workmanship. ... show more

Liked the looks of it when I took it out of the box and looks to be well put together, but was disappointed because it only fits one of my horses (I do not recommend this saddle if you have a very short backed horse)
