  • Snowshoes
Easy to use, lightweight, but could have better traction for steeper inclines. Overall I'm enjoying them very much!

  • Happy With Purchase
Although it was a bit of a struggle, the final result seems highly satisfactory. To start, there are only minimal instructions provided with the snowshoes so for a newbie there was lots of room for error. In trying them on, i inserted the boot straps incorrectly and could not remove them to correct placement. In the end i contacted Carryown through Amazon and they provided the solution which is to use a hairdryer to warm the thermoplastic strap so it is pliable and will remove easily from incorrect threading. Once that was done and the straps correctly threaded everything worked fine. The second issue was being able to lock the poles Tto the correct height. Again, it was just a matter of understanding the mechanism. Now feel prepared for my first trek in the snow and believe there will be minimal problems. ... show more

  • Excited to have these
Took them out for the first time and they were comfortable and worked great. Poles are kind of cheap.

  • 'Shoes OK, but the straps and poles need work!
We hoped to replace our 20+ year old snowshoes with this updated model. Sadly, with plenty of Michigan winter left, we are returning them after 3 treks. The ratchet straps were a reason we purchased these. Strangely, one of the 4 rubber ratchet straps was mis-threaded, on the bottom of the strap area instead of the top, where the ratchet would work. We wrestled that into the correct position and carried on. The poles: no matter how carefully they were tightened, had a tendency to collapse during the trek. Frustrating! And, cold metal poles (full of snow), are next to impossible to re-set to the correct length and to then re-tighten in the middle of a forest of snow. Additionally, the pole strap is extremely small - much too small for an adult's mitt or glove to go through. Lastly, the poles have a very small basket on the tip, so when planted, they go way down, instead of floating more like larger pole baskets do. And, maddeningly, the final straw was when one of the too-small basket tips totally escaped the tip of the pole when planted during a trek, lost to the forest trail until May. For the rest of this winter season we'll carry on with the older 'shoes and all their buckles and straps, and use ski poles! PLUSES: they are very lightweight and the ice crampon is great. Fix the pole problems and we'll try again! ... show more

  • Easy on/off. Durable, & good storage bag.
Have never went snowshoeing before, so I got a set for myself & my 3 daughters. We went up to MI. to snowshoe through a couple of forest trails. The snow was about 2 1/2ft deep. We did sink a good foot through the snow, but was able to descend & ascend some very steep terrain without slipping. Also the polls came in handy, & was able to withstand a good 40lb push-up assisting in getting up the steep inclines. Also the length could be easily changed for different climbing situations. ... show more

  • Poles are defective and not useful
The snow shoes are great, easy to use and lightweight. The poles are adjustable but one of them didn't function properly from the start, totally useless.

  • Love these Snowshoes
We ordered these snowshoes and have used them several times. They are light weight and work well in tracks as well as making a path. The directions were to put the buckles on the outside of each snow shoe but we found they fit better with the buckle on the inside. We have had a little trouble with the clamps on the buckles. Sometimes I can't get the plastic straps to stay tight around my toe end of my boots. ... show more
