  • Happy With Purchase
Although it was a bit of a struggle, the final result seems highly satisfactory. To start, there are only minimal instructions provided with the snowshoes so for a newbie there was lots of room for error. In trying them on, i inserted the boot straps incorrectly and could not remove them to correct placement. In the end i contacted Carryown through Amazon and they provided the solution which is to use a hairdryer to warm the thermoplastic strap so it is pliable and will remove easily from incorrect threading. Once that was done and the straps correctly threaded everything worked fine. The second issue was being able to lock the poles Tto the correct height. Again, it was just a matter of understanding the mechanism. Now feel prepared for my first trek in the snow and believe there will be minimal problems. ... show more

  • 'Shoes OK, but the straps and poles need work!
Color: Blue(snowshoes+pole) Size: 25"(120-200 lbs)
We hoped to replace our 20+ year old snowshoes with this updated model. Sadly, with plenty of Michigan winter left, we are returning them after 3 treks. The ratchet straps were a reason we purchased these. Strangely, one of the 4 rubber ratchet straps was mis-threaded, on the bottom of the strap area instead of the top, where the ratchet would work. We wrestled that into the correct position and carried on. The poles: no matter how carefully they were tightened, had a tendency to collapse during the trek. Frustrating! And, cold metal poles (full of snow), are next to impossible to re-set to the correct length and to then re-tighten in the middle of a forest of snow. Additionally, the pole strap is extremely small - much too small for an adult's mitt or glove to go through. Lastly, the poles have a very small basket on the tip, so when planted, they go way down, instead of floating more like larger pole baskets do. And, maddeningly, the final straw was when one of the too-small basket tips totally escaped the tip of the pole when planted during a trek, lost to the forest trail until May. For the rest of this winter season we'll carry on with the older 'shoes and all their buckles and straps, and use ski poles! PLUSES: they are very lightweight and the ice crampon is great. Fix the pole problems and we'll try again! ... show more

  • Pretty nice snowshoes
Color: Black(snowshoes+pole) Size: 21"(70-150 lbs)
I bought these for my gf to enjoy snowshoeing with me in WA Cascades. She enjoyed them, they come with everything you need. They worked pretty well, not too many big issues. I would recommend for the price.

  • Good Enough for the price
Color: Black(snowshoes+pole+gaiter) Size: 21"(70-150 lbs)
I took these out on an hour long hike and they worked okay. The snow was about 12in deep and there was not much of a groomed trail to follow. I followed the sizing guidelines, but they just seem too big, it makes it harder to navigate. I’ve rented snowshoes before that we’re higher quality and they were smaller. These stayed on my feet for most of the hike, but they started to loosen up towards the end and my foot slipped out twice. The poles are a little flimsy, I don’t feel like I can put a lot of weight on them. ... show more

  • Meh. Inexpensive. Underwhelming.
Color: Black(snowshoes+pole+gaiter) Size: 21"(70-150 lbs)
On the plus side these appear fairly lightweight, come with poles and gaiters for not a lot of money. I also like the carrying bags. Tried them in deep snow and they work as far as I can tell. Next time I will err on a larger side - don’t make the mistake I made of buying smaller ones. The negatives so far: the buckles are wonky and the front ones don’t ratchet down properly. You need to push the strap through the buckle to tighten. That happens on all five pairs I bought. Also the poles are a bit of a pain to adjust and come apart easily... but they are as easy to put back together. The baskets on the poles are small... I’d prefer larger ones for snowshoe poles. Also, they throw snow at my behind as I walk like nobody’s business. I don’t know if all snowshoes do that, but these certainly do and that’s annoying. Can’t comment on durability yet. ... show more

  • Love these Snowshoes
Color: Blue(snowshoes+pole+gaiter) Size: 25"(120-200 lbs)
We ordered these snowshoes and have used them several times. They are light weight and work well in tracks as well as making a path. The directions were to put the buckles on the outside of each snow shoe but we found they fit better with the buckle on the inside. We have had a little trouble with the clamps on the buckles. Sometimes I can't get the plastic straps to stay tight around my toe end of my boots. ... show more

Color: Blue(snowshoes+pole+gaiter) Size: 21"(70-150 lbs)
Initially, I was very dissatisfied with the snowshoes, however, after further research, I realized that we had threaded the straps incorrectly. I will say instructions would have been very helpful. I am glad I am not returning them because they are the colors I prefer and I like the poles and leg protectors. ... show more

  • Easy on/off. Durable, & good storage bag.
Color: Gold(snowshoes+pole+gaiter) Size: 21"(70-150 lbs)
Have never went snowshoeing before, so I got a set for myself & my 3 daughters. We went up to MI. to snowshoe through a couple of forest trails. The snow was about 2 1/2ft deep. We did sink a good foot through the snow, but was able to descend & ascend some very steep terrain without slipping. Also the polls came in handy, & was able to withstand a good 40lb push-up assisting in getting up the steep inclines. Also the length could be easily changed for different climbing situations. ... show more
