Overall it's a nice sweatshirt. Really like the frosted balsam heather color. Good thickness and warmth. Only thing I don't really like is how tight the collar is. Granted I've got a big head. But most shirt collars will stretch a bit and don't pose much of an issue. But this one is super tight and doesn't hardly stretch at all, so it's a bit tough to put on and take off.

I know this is a men's hoodie, but I actually ordered this for myself and I LOVE it! Most women's clothes these days are getting shorter or are flat out crop and I'm part of the demographic that likes ALL of my shirt. Even the women's Carhartt seems to be getting shorter so I decided to order a men's small (5'4" - 155lbs - 36DDD with a little more to love in the stomach area after my 3rd and final pregnancy in my mid 30's) and I couldn't be happier with the fit. The length is perfect (could even wear leggings with it), the bottom of the hoodie is stretchy but fits snuggly and comfortably around my hips, the arms have enough length that if I stretch out my arms are still covered (the sleeve doesn't go 1/4 of the way up my arm like the women's do), and it fits a little more snuggly in the chest area giving me more of a feminine shape but it doesn't hug too tightly around my stomach and accentuate the extra weight I need to lose. Also, the tags did say Rain Defender which was NOT mentioned in the ad at the time I received this. The $65 that this is listed at would absolutely be a bit high for a standard hoodie but since it's Rain Defender, it's probably about at (maybe even a little on the lower side for men's?) the going rate. I believe this is even considered a graphic hoodie which do go for a little more from what I've seen so this probably is a decent deal. It's listed as "Medium" weight but anyone familiar with Carhartt knows that their medium weight is heavier than most other hoodie's heavy weight so yes, this is plenty warm. The coloring in the lettering looks a little different - more of a light tan/beige than the grey color it looks on my phone. I've only washed/dried it once but it seems like it will hold it's shape and color well. It feels like another great quality piece that I've come to know and expect from Carhartt, I highly recommend this hoodie and not just for men so if you're a man searching for a hoodie for that special lady in your life or a woman looking for a comfortable hoodie that actually covers your whole body, this one is winner winner chicken dinner. I do plan to upload pictures when I get some!

This sweatshirt is my first Carhartt item and I really like it. I originally got it (in men's small) for my son who currently wears size youth XL, but it is too big for him at the moment. However, it does fit my tall preteen daughter, who promptly claimed it for herself. The inside of the sweatshirt has a very soft and comfortable layer, and the weight is quite warm. The 'Rain Defender' aspect means it contains a DWR (durable water repellent) finish which prevents precipitation from saturating the sweatshirt's exterior. This makes it water-resistant (but not waterproof). I tested this by pouring some water on a sleeve and the liquid did, indeed, bead up and roll off upon tilting. The interior of the sleeve remained dry. DWR coatings do wear off after time, but for now, it is a nice feature that enhances this covering. I tried this sweatshirt myself (I wear a women's medium), and while it fits, I did note it does not have as much 'give' as regular sweatshirts; it took me a couple of shoulder shimmies to remove it. Also, the fit around the neck is pretty close. It is neither tight nor discomforting, but not as loose as other hoodies I own. Overall, the sweatshirt is warm, sewn nicely, and even has preteen cachet (bonus!); we are happy with it.
