I purchased these boots prior to a Hawaii vacation, since we were planning on hiking. My girlfriend was worried that my feet would get sweaty and overheated, but surprisingly, they just stayed very warm. I have yet to wear them during wintertime, but I’m sure they’ll be just as toasty. Yes, they’re actually waterproof. As long as water doesn’t get up past the laces, there’s not a single chance of leakage. The traction was great, overall super sturdy boots. You could drop a 10lb weight on your toe and not feel a thing. Makes them great work boots in my opinion.

What do you expect if youre paying less than $50 (or much less) for a “boot.” It’s construction is essentially the same as say a good timberland without the other elements that make it more durable and expensive: no real arch shank, injection molded foot sole and tread that without sufficient QC or adverse conditions may cause or accelerate failure. It also has no extra stitching or other tidbits that would make this much more expensive. It runs large, and I have fairly big feet.

I was not looking for a hiking boot but a nice alternative to extreme cost "Timbo's" or a little cheaper "lugz" for that look. They are sharp and comfortable enough for that purpose. Only "complaints" is for others if wanting hiking boot it is lightweight but would probably break down easy if for that purpose. 2 while I don't really care, my wife, no surprise, initially liked the way they looked but upon further look "clowned" about being no name. In other words the only thing that makes them look cheap is no label whatsoever. They could use a small label of some sort, the empty canvas lets you know you definitely did not buy any big name let alone any name.

The media could not be loaded. My wife requested that I replace my boots. The treads on the soles had worn thin, the lining had holes and (her biggest complaint) they smelled like they looked-horrible. My biggest concern was to replace them with something that would last, but hopefully not be so heavy. I’d seen a fellow hiker with a pair that was super light and waterproof. I asked them where he got them and if he liked them. So here I am with my own pair. They’re pretty awesome. They are so lightweight that I feel like I’m wearing sneakers. Seriously! So that’s great for my feet and for packing. I can actually wear these everyday. I get great ankle support and traction and my wife says they’re better looking than most of my shoes-she’s right about that. For hiking they’re great. Not only are they lightweight, but waterproof and rugged. I have no problem hiking in the mud or wet grass or even an occasional puddle. Unlike my previous pair that were primarily suede and leather and fabric, these are kind of a hybrid between hiking and muck boots. Definitely a huge improvement on my old boots. The lightweight technology and waterproof materials makes hiking even more enjoyable for me. Plus I can get away with wearing them on the streets for every day use.
