Carbon Replacement Pre-Filter For Honeywell 50250-S Air Purifier I have read several negative comments regarding how these Carbon Replacement Pre-Filters do not fir properly and produce a "strange odor". I have the Honeywell HEPA Air Cleaners (Model #52500 and Model #50255-HD). These Carbon Replacement Pre-Filters fit both models perfectly, in fact they fit better than the original Honeywell Carbon Pre-Filters. The Velcro Attachment on these Replacement Filters is more secure, allowing for a thorough filtration process. Now, about that "strange odor"....... I noticed it too, after the second day of use. Strangely, I remembered smelling that odor before.... Where? When I would open bottles of Pure Charcoal used for medical purposes!!! Yep; that "strange odor" is the smell of Pure Charcoal.... because oddly enough, Pre Charcoal does emit an odor. I have a home full of cats, so I am sensitive to odors. But these filters are doing quite the job in diminishing any residual odors that my many cats produce. I keep both units running 24/7, and the efficiency of these units has greatly increased. You decide: Pure Charcoal or Funky Odors....... that seems to be an easy one for me. Thanks!

I have had my HP air purifier for 5+ years. I wish I had found this filter WAY sooner. Like other reviews have said, this pre-filter is SO easy to install - no scissors required. I usually have endEd up cutting a very lopsided filter after a lot of frustration. This filter isn’t sheer like the HP brand I have been buying, and the Velcro closure is seamless. I am certain it will be much more effective. This is less expensive than the HP filter also so much more value for the money. It’s a Christmas miracle! You can’t go wrong.

Unfolding the filter and wrapping it around the canister in place of the previous filter was amazing. The width is perfect and the stitched-in Velcro ends met and connected easily. The filter was snug and covered the canister perfectly. For my 50250-S, it fits so well and evenly that it is far superior to the branded ones that have to be cut down for this air purifier. It is also good that there are no thin portions that are cutting guides. The oGeee pre-filter seems more durable and a little heavier/thicker as well. I had some apprehension about ordering a 3rd-party substitute. Once I saw how simple it is to install the oGeee and how well it fit, all I could do was smile. I am very happy with this product.

I can tell the carbon filter is working, as soon as turn on the filter unit, within a short period of time the air in the room smells cleaner. The problem with carbon filters is that they only last about 2 to 3 months depending on the degree of odors it has absorbed, which is a good thing these filters are not expensive. Some carbon filters I've tried don't work near as well as absorbing odors as this one does, and one I tried I couldn't even tell it was doing anything against odors. This filter also doubles as a prefilter, so once a week I vacuum off the carbon filter, so with the combined action of working as a prefilter and keeping it vacuumed, it preserves the main filter from getting dirty as quickly.

This may be the best filter I've bought for my Honeywell air purifier. It fit like a glove, no cutting or trimming needed at all. It lasted as long as any other filters I've bought over the years. I took a chance on it and am extremely happy. I also bought a 2 pack of another brand but they needed the usual trimming etc to fit, as do the Honeywell filters. This filter also has a full length velcro connection , unlike the others that come with a couple of crappy velcro strips to connect the ends. I will continue to buy these as long as they are available.

BETTER THAN OEM...AT FIRST INSTALL THEY SEEM AN INCH SHORT BUT ALIGN IT AND PULL TIGHT AND THE VELCRO ALIGNS PERFECT...PERFECT SNUG FIT ANY LONGER WOULD NOT BE PERFECT.... I HAVE THREE 50250'S AND ONE HAD AN OLDER ONE OF THESE ON IT, BUT IT WAS STILL IN GOOD SHAPE... I VACUUM IT ALONG WITH THE HEPA FILTER....IT WILL OUT LIVE ME....EVEN THOUGH WITH CLEAN AIR I'VE BEEN TOLD I WILL LIVE FOREVER. NOW I HAVE ONE OF THESE PRE FILTERS IN ALL THREE OF MY HONEYWELL 50250'S. WITH THREE I CAN SPREAD THEM OUT AND RUN EACH ON THE QUIET (LOW) SETTING. THESE PRE FILTERS ARE DENSE AND SUBSTANTIAL AND I CAN NOT SEE THROUGH THEM.

As best I can tell it performs as well as the past ones. I know that the air smells fresher when I have onr air prifier ao I will keep pirchasing the necessary filllters or pre filters when ever indicated...thank you.
