Description

The E Series jazz shoe from Capezio features a soft and flexible leather upper that molds perfectly to your foot's shape. Stretch fabric wraps around your arch and the sides of your foot for support and custom fitting. The split sole includes a textured design that offers traction on any surface. The perfect basic for any jazz session. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.Note-This shoe is to fit very snug as it is meant to stretch.

  • Great Jazz Shoes but sizing is TERRIBLE!
Size: 4 Color: Caramel
I'm giving it 4 stars ONLY because the sizing is WAY OFF. Capezio makes the best dance shoes with the highest quality and that's the only shoe that's allowed in my daughter's dance class. She wears a size 2 in regular shoes - sneakers, a 1.5 size in sandals. I ordered size 3, 3.5 and 4 to see which one would fit. The size 4 BARELY fits. So I'm returning all 3 sizes and ordered size 4.5. She wears a 2.5 in the Capezio U-shell tap shoes and a size 2.5 in the Capezio ballet shoes. Also for these E series Jazz shoes - there is no "child" sizes - it stops at 1.5 for child sizes so you have to go to the women's size. This is probably the reason for the size discrepancy. ... show more

  • Fit like a glove and very comfortable
Size: 10 Wide Color: Black
My shoes arrived today and they fit like a glove! I just wanted to update y'all because reading through the reviews on Amazon was giving me a headache. Between people saying they were a perfect fit and that they run up to two sizes too small. My takeaway from sifting through the reviews and product information was that you should buy the size you usually wear, unless perhaps your big toe is longer than your second toe, in which case, order a half size bigger. They will start tight and stretch with wear. I ordered in my usual size and I'm happy with the length. They look tiny when you take them out of the box, but they are stretchy. My toes are a little snug in the front, but going by what other people (and the company) say, they do stretch more with time. My big toe is a little shorter than my second toe and I can see why it might be a problem if it weren't because the top of the shoe is quite round. I'm really glad I ordered the wide (for my wide feet), because they are pretty tight across the instep. So, anyway. These are so comfortable, and light, and give a nice balance between security/grip and slipperiness for spins. Looking forward to trying them out next week! I will update this review if they wind up not living up to my expectations on the stage floor. ... show more

  • Did not receive Capezio brand shoes!
Size: 8 Color: Black
I expected to receive Capezio brand shoes and a decent quality leather. However, these are not Capezio but an off brand I could have ordered for for less money.. It was too late to send them back or order another pair as my daughter needed them for a musical production. Very disappointed I paid more money for a brand I did not receive, and the quality seems cheap. ... show more

  • Excellent Product, Horrible sizing guidelines
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Black
Excellent product, horrible sizing guidelines. The Wide is like narrow... The websight & seller gives very little guidelines, and leaves you guessing based on vague information. The guidelines state order what you normally wear, when that is not true. What you normally wear is 1-2 sizes too small. Order 1 to 2 sizes larger than you need if you expect to wear these out of the box, while keeping in mind that you need to break them in also. Very disappointed & now have no shoes for my show coming up...must now order a second pair, hope they fit, and deal with the hassle of returning these. ... show more

  • Great shoes, difficult sizing
Size: 8.5 Color: Black
I purchased a pair of these for my 14-y.o. daughter. She wears a 7.5 in street shoes, which I also wear. I took a lot of time deciding which size to buy. We measured her foot, but it seemed small. So I went with the guideline of 1 size larger than street shoes. Her 8.5 fits snug, especially on her big toe, which is her longest toe. I tried it on with the same result. The rest of the shoe fit well without any tightness at all. We decided that we would give it a chance to let the shoe stretch a bit and form to her foot better as she wears it. If I were in the store, I would’ve had her try a 9 as well. But I can’t say how that would’ve gone. The quality of the shoe is excellent, both materials and stitching. I’m confident we won’t have any issues there. Good luck finding the right fit! ... show more

  • Runs small and narrow
Size: 6 Wide Color: Caramel
Keep in mind, if you are buying these for a child, an adult 3 is not a child 3. That being said, these shoes still run small and narrow. I got my daughter a 4.5W (which is supposed to be equivalent to be a Euro 35, and equivalent to the 3.5 child she normally wears), and it was quite narrow and very small. It is about a third to a half-inch longer than the size 1.5 child's jazz shoe I got for her sister in this brand, and quite a BIT smaller than the 2.5W child Capezio ballet slippers I recently ordered. I am sending these back for a size 6W and hope they work. Obviously size up to match the actual adult size rather than trying to buy your child their regular size, but then size up again, in our experience! ... show more

  • Great quality shoe
Size: 10.5 Color: Caramel
Great quality shoe, but they do NOT have their sizing accurate. The first pair I bought were painfully small. They recommend buying your shoe size and that they'll "mold" to your foot. Forget that. Order at least a size larger. I had to have them stretched and they were still tight. I ordered another pair (one stays at my studio and one i carry with me) 1.5 sizes larger than my shoe size and those fit. ... show more

  • A bit tight is totally normal
Size: 6.5 Color: Black
1. SIZE: Lots of people here complaining about these shoes being smaller than expected. Jazz shoes are supposed to fit the foot like a glove, for this they come a little bit tighter and stretch with constant use. In my case I got half a size up and wore them around the house 15min everyday for a week before taking them to dance class. And now they feel perfect right on time for the next recital. Something odd I noticed is that they leave a light stain on my heels, but nothing too crazy. 2. PACKAGING: I also read some reviews about packaging not being the right Brand, as for me they came in the right box. Overall I am happy about this purchase. ... show more
