My kid only wants to wear sweat pants or shorts. He cannot stand the feeling of denim either. Last year for a class camp trip I found these water resistant pants at REI and he wears them when he needs to dress up because they look like slacks and he is actually comfy in them. But he’s grown out of them so I went looking. The reviews said many other picky texture kids liked these, I like that they’re elastic waist, no need for a belt and have stretch. When they first came I wasn’t sure, they feel a bit, not super soft… but he tried them on and loved them! YAY! I’m sure after a wash they’re going to soften a bit. For the price it is worth a try. I also ordered some button up ISO’s pants that feel super soft and he likes them too. YAY! Now i can take him to nice places, restaurants and events and he has some nice pants to wear. My kid is also short, he wears between 12-14 depending on the designer. I got these in Large, fit is perfect! ... show more
