Amazing buy totally worth your money!!!!!

I purchased this uniform to get into the spirit of the 4th of July, and I was more than pleased with the way it turned out. First of all, the buttons are metal, not plastic, which adds a lot of realism and makes the whole costume look and feel so much better. Secondly, this thing is more comfortable than literally 90% of my regular clothes, and the material isnā€™t too thick or too thin, and for the most part it stays pretty cool, at least compared to other costumes. Third, the color is amazing, it looks at least semi authentic and itā€™s a truly beautiful costume! It doesnā€™t come with an undershirt so I used a plain white long sleeve shirt underneath with the sleeves rolled up and black tights underneath the pants, to make it even more comfortable. I normally wear a medium but I had to get a large because they were out of stock and I found that was totally fine because it really does fit me well no matter what size (though I probably canā€™t confidently say that about everyone who purchases this). Overall, itā€™s an amazing buy and Iā€™d definitely get another one, actually I might do that anyway but if youā€™re looking for a good colonial soldier costume without spending hundreds of dollars, this is essentially as good as it gets! ... show more

Thicker material and better quality than I was expecting.

5ā€™6ā€ tall and weigh 140lbs. XS fit perfectly. But it did not come with the cravat. Otherwise, seems well made for the price point for a costume outfit.

Very good fit for a tall person

Really nice costume for the price. It fits great on my 6'5'' husband. He usually wears a L tall (and sometimes XL regular) but the XL (regular) size on this costume was perfect for him, not tight nor short. He usually wears tall size dress shirts because he needs extra sleeve length, but the ruffle at the end of the sleeve made it fit well for his extra arm length. The coat is long so it looked good on him. He is very happy with this purchase. He likes the light and cool polyester material, but it is NOT see through. He has a bit of a belly, but not too much, and the jacket is wider by getting a bigger size, and also it opens in the middle, so the fit looks very good and the belly is not visible. When ordering, if you are also tall person, I suggest getting a size larger, like we did, and then it fits perfect. Otherwise your normal size may be good. The vest is sewn, so you may need to have this into account if you have a big belly, though. We really recommend this costume! ... show more

Best thing I've ever bought...

SIZE Medium, 170lbs, 5'7", Hips 45", waist 30", Chest 36B, female: I am a bottom heavy lady so most bagged costumes are way too big up top and way too small on the bottom. For reference, my hips come in at a whopping 45" so my booty almost never fits into men's size medium pants. These pants have a lot of stretch and give, and fit me perfectly with room to give! They would also fit someone smaller than me, and maybe a couple inches bigger than me even. The top was a teeny bit too large in the chest and shoulders because I am smaller on top (36B cup, 30" waist) but it still looks great and I'd rather that than it be too small. I maybe could have even ordered a size small and gotten away with it, but the bottom of the top is all connected as one piece (the jacket is not a true jacket so you have to wear it with the vest as a one-piece) and doesn't have much more room to give over my hips so I think medium was a smart move. If you have slimmer hips than me and you're small/medium on top, get the size small. All that to say, I love this so much that I didn't want to take it off after trying it on...I was tempted to wear it out running my errands, but I'll spare the world today... ... show more

I ordered an XL size and good thing. It was tight in the middle but wearable. I have to admit though I did some extensive modifications to this costume. Some were for appearance and others were for wearability. For example, I lined the inside of the coat tails with a similar double knit tan fabric and then sewed the tail corners outward on each side to more closely imitate the military coat tales worn in the buttoned closed position in warm weather. I also added brown vinyl boat tops to the black shoe sleeves provided. For wearability I had to stitch the collar upright on one side as It did not stand up on its own and I also had to resew the vest attachment on one side of the chest as it sagged and drooped due to poor stitching. Finally, the ruffled color is too small and too short for this costume. Its pictures as warn outside the vest but they were actually worn inside with a loose ruffle exposed high at the neck. Recommend finding a different ruffle to wear that will cover the entire neck and chest opening. Photo provided ... show more
