I have no real complaints about these, except two minor points: one, that the elastic in the waistband isn't sewn in place, so can get twisted, and two, the inner gusset (extra layer of fabric in the crotch) is made of the same pointelle fabric as the main instead of a softer fabric without holes. These are the first panties I've worn that have a long and wide enough gusset that everything is covered, and no seams irritate sensitive areas, which is the main reason I bought them. No more chafing or tugging at my underwear! I found that they run slightly large, but they didn't come up over my belly button like some reviewers have mentioned. I threw out my older underwear and bought a more pairs, though they are expensive. Life's too short for uncomfortable underwear.

I really hesitated before purchasing these due to the cost, but have had such sensitivity to the elastic leg bands on other panties that I thought I would try these. They are sooo confortable and no elastic in the leg opening to irritate the skin! The elastic in the waist band rolls, but hoping I can put a couple stitches in to hold it. The panties are also very cool and breathable.

The fit is fine and I love that they are all cotton. But, I feel like I'm wearing my mother's underwear. Maybe if that had just the slightest amount of spandex - say 3%. I think that would improve the feel and modernize this product a little.

These are not modern skimpy tight spandex underwear. If that’s what you like, there are lots of other options. It’s relatively difficult to find 100% cotton underwear that is latex free, especially without elastic in the legs. The legs are just cotton ribbing which can stretch out over time, but that takes years and many washings. Additionally the waistband has replaceable elastic. So you can alter the waist size or replace it if it gets worn out. This is a fantastic feature that more clothing should have. It does mean the elastic can roll inside the band, but that’s a minor issue and worth dealing with. The Ajour fabric is very breatheable. It can be a little rough because of all the holes. I wish that these could be seamless on the sides, the side seams are bulky and irritating. You can wear them inside out to minimize the issue, but it’s still better to have no seams, which Calida does do for other styles. One thing I have noticed lately is that the elastic seems to be tighter around the waist than in the past. I can’t verify this as the older pairs have all been washed a lot so may have stretched over time. But I think Calida should make the elastic in the waist a little bit longer. This underwear is full coverage, but I have noticed some pairs have a higher rise than others. I prefer the high rise and I think that’s what is intended for this style, but be aware you might get one with a little bit shorter rise, more like a mid rise. One of the best things about 100% cotton white underwear is that you can wash them on very high heat and dry in the dryer without damaging them. They could also be bleached if needed, but that could shorten their lifespan. I’ve run these through what must be hundreds of extra hot washes by now and they are in good shape. I even have washed them in loads with towels, which is not a good idea since towels are very rough, and other clothes have come out pilled, but these underwear never pill or seem to suffer in any way.
