  • Great performance
Model: Analog Version
For whatever reason, I had a heckuva time coming to terms that the single best way to use this is via s.bus. I tried doing a UART on my FC and couldn't get that to work, and played with it just as it is out of the box for a while and that was cool, but ultimately it works best via s.bus. With nothing other than power connected, it will do gimbal things; correct for movement. It will detect whether mounted rightside up or upside down on power up and work accordingly. This version, sold as the "C-20" comes with the little USB interface adapter. The Caddx branded ones do NOT. Hunting down the software and firmware is a little bit of work, but not too bad. The software is called GimbalConfig. The gimbal comes with a set of screws that appear to be worthless, a 3D printed spacer (I got the analog version) to accommodate the plug on the back of an analog camera, and a... what must be 34 gauge set of wires run through ready for you to plug in your analog camera. I'm using the Caddx Ratel Pro which has a somewhat heavy and protrusive lens, and even with the additional 5 or 6mm of "stick out" from the spacer, the gimbal has the strength to stabilize the camera pretty effectively. So with two wires for power, and a single wire for s.bus, you get full functionality. It will eat up your channels, but if you're like most nerds you're using ExpressLRS and probably only need 10 channels max for your actual car so that's just fine. Now that I have them working, I kinda forget all the junk I stumbled through to get to that point, but even with only power connected, it does a good-enough job at what it does to justify the cost. Range of movement had initially, prior to even considering buying it, mislead me. It moves 145(?) degrees to the left and to the right, can see in almost a complete full circle. For some reason I thought it could only do less than half a full circle altogether. Not the case. If I'd have known that from the getgo I may have bought this months ago... The sketchy little Chinese Windows program used to configure this thing is... sketchy and Chinese. Probably fine, who knows. The gimbal expects to see 1520us PWM for neutral so if you're setting up your axis and see that it wants to dift downward and to the left at neutral, change your output accordingly. Installing the camera kindof sucks. The holes seem to not line up quite right, and the two screws they included are VERY small torx that don't seem to fit well with the one T5 (I think it was T5) bit that I had. Might just be a me thing, but it was not fun to mount. If you are using analog and want to change to upsidedown, the two pin parameter port is blocked, so you'll have to remove the camera, change the settings, and install it again; be sure to get your analog camera settings dialed in beforehand. It would be amazing if they had a 5 pin instead of 3 pin so you could plug your little five way camera control stick into the back of the gimbal to get to your settings :) Incase you don't feel like reading the manual, the top pin is positive 2s-6s, the next pin down is ground. The next two pins are the Uart TX and Rx, and the most important pin, the fifth pin from the top is your s.bus pin. You can just take the other wires out of the little connector so they're not in the way. The two connectors on the back are the voltage/interface and analog video, and the connector on the side that's the same as the small connector on the back is for USB. Nothing bad happens if you accidentally plug the USB adapter into the analog video port, thankfully. Honestly, this thing is pretty impressive. I'd love to see a version that uses just one motor and is narrower/lower profile, and has a passthrough port for analog cameras since Analog Is Not Dead, but you cannot build a better mini gimbal for the money. I tried. This thing gets a star taken away simply because it's not a very straightforward setup, which actually isn't all bad; it's adaptable! Just be prepared to tinker when you buy one. ... show more

  • Good gimbal. Works with DJI O4 Air
Model: O4 Lite Version
Works just fine. Software is a little basic though, but other than that no complaints. Just make sure to power up with a battery before trying to connect to a computer.
