  • Large size is an advantage.
We used it for window insulation to keep the sun from heating our house through the windows. It’s large size enabled us to cut single pieces to cover the windows.

  • Large Bubble Wrap to protect my potted plants
I purchased this 48" wide large-bubble wrap strictly for my potted plants that grew too large to bring indoors for the winter. I figured LARGE bubbles (as opposed to small-bubble wrap) entrapped more air within the bubbles, thus providing more cushion from the cold. You may can see in the photo provided that I wrapped around the clustered plants, not draping it over the top of them. It allows for rain to water them, sunlight to keep them happy, air to circulate. I also placed them at the base of a small Japanese maple which shed its leaves, and now can serve as a framework to support a removable top cover (tarp or blanket or more bubble wrap) when the weather dips below freezing. Note that I attached packing tape, the kind with fiber reinforcements in it, like suspenders to hold up the two layers of 48" wide bubble wrap against wind and rain. At this time, my plan seems to be working. It is mid-December, and we had one freeze so far this fall. Our gardening zone is 8-B, so we have as a rule a few episodes in the low 20s, sometimes lower, but in normal years the freeze does not last for extended periods of time. Thus I can cover the open top of this wrap with the tarp or blanket quite easily when the forecast for a freeze is known. Meanwhile, the rest of the roll is held in reserve for other uses, or for packing delicate objects before storing them long term. I am quite pleased with this product. Years ago, I used large-bubble wrap to insulate a screened-in carport to great results. That winter, I had about 12 parrots in cages in the carport, which had screening on two sides, walls on the south and east two sides. With the large-bubble wrap and a 1500 watt space heater, the parrots were able to winter over in the carport. So from long experience with the material, I know it provides some degree of insulation from the cold. The 48" wide wrap, requiring fewer seams for cold to penetrate, would be my recommendation for creating a barrier against the cold. It is easy to handle. It can even be saved for next winter. ... show more

  • I got this to insulate my greenhouse roof.
It worked well, for my greenhouse roof. There are NO perforations, which is what I wanted. It is 1 48" roll. The bubbles pop rather easily, but the wrap is sturdy enough for the job. It came on time and in a clear plastic bag with no tape, so there was no waste from peeling off any tape. My only complaint is that I needed the full 65 feet, but there was only 61 foot and 4 inches on the roll. I have tried many things, but there is, of course, no way to contact the company or talk to Amazon about this disappointment. ... show more

  • Used this to insulate a greenhouse.
I used this to insulate the inside of a greenhouse, along with a variety of other materials. Apparently in the UK they have horticultural bubble wrap which is stronger and more durable than this, which is primarily used for shipping, but I was unable to find any in the United States. This has helped to maintain the temperature in the greenhouse, but I don't know how durable it will be from year to year. ... show more

  • In case you ask, yes I am using it inside a greenhouse.
Purchased to be used as insulation in a greenhouse. It is working and I used a sturdy 2ble sided tape to hold it to the greenhouse windows. I will order more later. Its holding at 28 degrees.

  • 48" was perfect
We are moving and only 18 miles from our present home. I wanted to wrap our artwork. This is absolutely perfect. Most oils are 36x30 or 30 x 24. This is thick and at 48" was wider than most of the pics we have. I was extremely pleased. We ended up getting a second roll as we had some larger mirrors we thought we would protect. Prior to wrapping, I put a piece of paper first to protect the plastic from rubbing against the raised oil part of the paintings. That has worked before when we have moved. But this larger size wrap was perfect for completing in half the time. Also bought the corner protectors to use prior to using this wrap. ... show more

  • Works for skylight
I live in an attic and insulating with thick drapes was no longer an option when I had surgery and would be spending all my time in my living room. And so, having watched several YouTube videos about bubble wrap insulation for regular windows, I decided to do an experiment; Could it also work for a low-ceiling skylight? YES! Having more light (without the draft of winter that comes with bare windows) kept my spirits up while I healed. The man who did it used two pieces and held them in place with tension rods. ... show more

  • Energy Saving Insulation!
Nice BIG roll of bubble paper and I have a LOT left! Bought it to insulate my windows in my mobile home! Cut to fit, sprayed window with water and put on, bubble side facing the window. I put it on all the windows I rarely look out of. It still allows the light in and you can see people walking by or your dog in the front yard still! Just not clearly! Waiting to see my next utility bill. I can certainly tell they are helping however, since the furnace goes on about half as much as before! Very happy with this purchase! ... show more
