We got a size bigger than he actually needed because he has wide feet, but it was actually not needed. I'm quite pleased with this shoe, the first one I've ever purchased on line. I was surprised that the outcome is so positive, especially for such a moderately priced shoe. I'd call it a "nice casual," well suited for work. I would not recommend this for athletic use as the sole and arches are not designed for that type of use. The shoes look better in person than online. I wear 10.5, and have slightly wide feet and these shoes fit perfectly. They could use a bit more cushion on the soles but otherwise a nice pare of business casual shoes. Plus, can't beat the price!
