My son is so happy with these shoes. He wears them with his Civil Air Patrol dress blues and they are perfect. They arrived in time for the state wing conference so the first time out wearing them was from 11 am to 9 pm, then the next day 7am to 9pm. He had NO complaints, said they were as comfortable as tennis shoes. The cadets were in class but also out practicing drills for hours. I compared them to his previous pair of dress shoes made by Rothco and one of the differences I noticed was the spring in the heel. These have some give when pushing down on the inside of the shoe into the heel. The Rothco brand has a rubber heel, but the welt is solid and hard so there is no give beyond the insole of the shoe. As for the arch support, my son has flat feet so minimal support is best for him, shoes with a high support are incredibly uncomfortable for him. In case you're wondering, he doesn't have pronated ankles or fallen arches. The doctor said there wasn't anything that needed to be done, that's just his feet and the various remedies to "fix" only hinder him. That said, I don't know how these would fit or feel to a person with a moderate to high arch, don't see why a support couldn't be added.

I wear a US 8, I tried an 8 and they were like clown shoes on me. 7 was perfect length, but super tight (I dont have wide feet). I went with 7W and they are better, but now way too wide. Also, for some reason, they are as long as the 8s. It really makes no sense. They will work for what I need though :). They seem like they will be comfortable though, from the little I have worn them.

Looks great. Shoe came flawless. I usually wear a size 10 Us as my feet are wide. However I opted for a 9.5 wide here and I am not disappointed, still has a little room and isn't snugg. I haven't worn it for any long period of time, as it's for a short ceremony. Wear thick socks as I do feel a bit of discomfort on my left heel. Otherwise it doesn't feel too bad walking around. Not sure if it would make a parade or anything, however for my purpose which was a short interview for promotion it looked and felt great.

I needed these shoes for a special event. I bought a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear because patent leather shoes are often super tight. I am glad I did! I recommend these for any gala, ball, wedding, prom, etc.
