What did I notice about these shoes as a Cole Haan junkie? I was looking for some "cheapies" that were somewhat close to Haan's comfort. Tried several and these are by far the closest thing! So comfortable! These shoes fit according to size- and it was sad when I had to take out the insoles that came with these for my arch support ones- the insoles that came with the Bruno's are amazing. They are stylish and seem well built but I've only been wearing them for a couple of weeks. They get 4 stars because of a few things but overall a GREAT value for money! "Downsides" include fact that they breathe as well as we do underwater- not well at all! If you struggle with foot sweat- I'd look elsewhere. Also- the soles are super comfy but I get rocks, debris, and other things stuck in the deep grooves almost every time I walk off sidewalk. Just something to be ready to pick out regularly. Overall though- strong recommendation! Hopefully they don't rip out on me in a month! Will update if they do! :)

I just received these shoes and was trying them on for the first time. As I was putting them on and using the pull tab (the loop at the back), it ripped immediately. I was considering keeping them, but this happened before I even got to wear them outside. I’m really disappointed and now questioning the overall quality of the shoe. The loop material is very, very thin and flimsy. I understand that I caused the damage by pulling on the tab, but that’s what the tab is there for. It should be strong enough to handle that basic function. Definitely not the kind of quality you’d expect from a new pair of shoes.

In fairness I can only talk about the craft and what would fit well for a person with a non wide foot pattern. As this was my size it did not offer a wide so I went for a size larger but I found that the pair of shoes were too narrow. However that did not take away from the shoe’s well made design and comfort, of which I found the soles to be really nice for a dress shoe, that is a hybrid sneaker as well. Nice to wear and it will fit well with your formal attire while giving you the comfort you need. I find many wear these kind of shoes these days and the modern twist makes for a debonair plus comfort mix from the traditional wing tips and dress shoes of yore. Well done - it just didn’t fit me well at 10.5 - maybe should have gone 11 but if it had a wider width, it would definitely be a keeper for me!

Edit a few weeks later: I have worn these shoes more than I thought I would. I’ll admit. I’m becoming a fan of how they look. Bruno Marc makes surprisingly comfortable shoes for a very affordable price. I’ll likely buy more from Bruno Marc. I can see why they have such positive reviews. Mullet, you say? Yeah. All business on the top and all party on the bottom. The sole and bottom of the shoe is like a sneaker. The top of the shoe is like a dress shoe. Here are my observations in no particular order. 1. This shoe is shockingly comfy. The sneaker like bottom is super soft, grippy, and insanely comfortable in a springy kinda way. They almost feel like a good pair of sneakers. 2. The laces are too short. They need to replace them with longer laces. It's hard to tie them once on. 3. They are true to size, if not a little narrow. Just a tiny bit. 4. My heels are rubbing a tiny bit, but I get that a lot with dress style shoes. It should be just fine after a few uses. I’ll update my review if it becomes a problem. 5. Decent looking shoe. That said, I'm not sure how much I will wear them. Too much mullet happening IMHO. I’m just not sure I like the sneaker and dress shoe combo look. If you feel differently, you will likely be happy with these. Maybe if the soul were more of a tan color, they would look better. The black on white is jarring, as is the casual and dress mix. 6. All in all, a very decent shoe for the money, IF IF IF you like the look.
