I'm not a runner. I am a person who suffered from achilles tendonitis for a number of years. This was one of only two brands I found that gave me real relief from the constant pain. They always fit true to size. The are flexible but not mushy. The toe box is just right. My toes have plenty of space but are still supported so my step stays as natural as possible when wearing a shoe. Great traction. Even after they've aged they haven't become slippery. For achilles tendonitis, I needed a shoe with a thicker midsole so my heal doesn't drop too much as roll through my step. The midsole is the thicker middle part of the sole of the shoe that typically span from about your arch back to your heal. It cushions the second half of your step when one heal hits the ground as the other foot comes up for the next step. If you have a thinner mid sole, you heal hits the ground harder with less cushion. The pain it was causing in my achilles was excruciating. This is one of 5 pairs of Brooks I've purchased in the past 8 years and I have loved every one of them. They're pricey, but worth every penny. This is my second pair of brooks & my first pair of glycerins. So far I LOVE them! I have a narrow foot but like a wide toe box, these fit that perfectly. They have great support but not too soft, and have such a comfortable & light weight feel! Quality is perfect! So far so good. I had purchased a pair of these previously and had to send them back sit to the bottom treads coming loose after I wore them 3 times. I like these, my feet don’t hurt and there is a good quality sole. My only complaint would be that the toe box is narrow and sometimes my big toes hurt. My feet don’t get too hot in these and they’re holding up well
